Dara was recently interviewed by Herald Pop. In the said interview, she opened up about the criticisms she received for acting in "One Step".

"I have a unique tone of my own," said Dara regarding the criticisms. "I was criticized for poor acting and there were times when I was intimidated."

According to All Kpop, Dara was criticized by the people because of her poor performance on the movie. People also took note of her high-pitched voice that made watching "One Step" very difficult.

Dara then proceeded to explain how she naturally has a high-pitched voice. People just did not have the chance to hear her high-pitched voice because her parts in 2NE1's ballad songs were very few.

She specifically pointed 2NE1's track "Missing You" having a sad vibe. Dara added how 2NE1's ballad songs have a sad tune and that her high-pitched voice does not suit them that's why she intentionally  practiced and sang in a low tone to complement the song.

However, Dara expressed how she would continue acting regardless of the criticisms. She adds how she has learned so much because of the experiences she went through.

Dara would also like to prove her voice to the general public. "I have the desire to make the discomfort [my voice causes] go away," said Dara.

In other news, Dara has expressed the possibility of her first solo album releasing this summer. As previously reported, revealed the news during a café interview for "One Step".

Dara not spoken about her first solo album yet with her agency, YG Entertainment. However, she revealed that if an article about her solo album comes up, her bosses at the agency would definitely give her a call.

Meanwhile, "One Step" is Dara's first ever Korean film. She reportedly also has a role in a movie adaptation of "Cheese in the Trap".
