Kyuhyun Military Enlistment: Youngest Super Junior Member Will Serve As Social Worker Following Tragic Accident In 2007

Some fans might not be ready not to see Kyuhyun for 21 months. However, as a good civilian, Kyuhyun has to fulfill his duty to be enlisted in the military. Considering severe injury he got from a car accident back in 2007, Kyuhyun will not undergo normal military training. The youngest Super Junior member will serve as a social worker instead given his history.

On April 24, SM Entertainment has announced Kyuhyun's departure date to the military. The agency stated that he will be heading to Nonsan Military Camp on May 25. According to Korea Boo, Kyuhyun was rated as level 4 candidate in his military evaluations because of a car accident in 2007 that resulted in a severe injury.

Level 4 candidates are considered unable to fulfill normal military training. Thus, Kyuhyun will be given a special role as a social worker once his initial training is over. Kyuhyun military enlistment means that the Super Junior idol has to leave his role as the host of "Radio Star".

At this point, there hasn't been any announcement on who will replace the role. Fans have also been weighing in to determine the next host of "Radio Star". The majority of them propose Heechul to fill in Kyuhyun's post as the MC.

Meanwhile, Kyuhyun's bandmate, Yesung has sent his support to him lately, Soompi reported. Yesung expressed his feelings towards Kyuhyun's upcoming military enlistment on SBS PowerFM's "2  O'Clock Escape Cultwo Show". When asked about his feeling, Yesung responded by saying that Kyuhyun has done enough and everyone should be able to let him go. Before Yesung went on air, he uploaded a picture of him and Kyuhyun on Instagram, displaying the bromance bond between them.

Super Junior members Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Shindong, and Sungmin have completed their military duty, while Donghae, Siwon, and Eunhyuk will be discharged within this year, leaving Ryeowook who still has one more year or service. However, that doesn't change the veteran boy group's plan to release new music at the end of this year.
