The former lovers (Taebaek or Baekyeon as we usually called it) Taeyeon of Girls' Generation and Baekhyun of EXO encountered a bit of an awkward moment on stage recently.

During this weeks episode of M! Countdown, fans couldn't help but point out how awkward it was to watch Taeyeon and Baekhyun standing right next to each other while the MCs were announcing the winners of this week's show.

With both veteran groups making their comeback at the same time, Girls' Generation with two tracks off of their 'Holiday Night Album' and EXO's "KoKo Bop" off of 'The War' Album, both artists were nominees to win the award and were front and center stage awaiting the results. The two groups stood side by side and fans felt the awkward tension oozing off of the stage from the ex-lovers until EXO were crowned the winners.

Fans noticed that Taeyeon stood directly behind Baekhyun and he appeared to be trying to act cool, calm and collected as he smiled awkwardly or randomly played with confetti. He truly shocked fans when he turned around and faced Taeyeon directly.
