Moments We Love from The Rose's 2018 Paint it Rose World Tour (REVIEW)

The Rose kicked off the North American leg of their 2018 Paint it Rose World Tour with their performance at Irving Plaza in New York on May 19th, 2018. The four-member South Korean band officially debuted with J&Star Company on August 3, 2017 -- and less than a year later they have completed a successful world tour, spanning Europe, North America, and South America. This tour was made possible through MyMusicTaste, where Black Roses (the fandom name of The Rose!) participated in campaigns to bring their favorite artist's concerts to them.

Here are some of the highlights from the New York stop --- a collection of moments that made us fall even more in love with The Rose!

1. Seeing The Rose's New York dreams come true!

After self-introductions and an enthusiastic greeting, members Leo and Sammy expressed their excitement at actually being featured in a New York venue. They would play around and practice yelling, "What's up New York!" back in Korea -- but now, their dream finally came true (thanks to MyMusicTaste!)

2. Singing along to I.L.Y!

I.L.Y. is one of the most romantic songs off of The Rose's EP Void, with lyrics filled with love. With the entire audience singing along to "I love you~", the venue's disco ball bathing everything in light, and the band's sweet vocals, it was hard not to fall in love with The Rose.

The band even followed by repeating a chorus of the song in order to hear the audience sing more, with Leo commenting, "You guys really have a beautiful voice!" We are swooning.

3. Sammy and Leo getting the crowd hyped with a cover of "Oasis" by Crush feat. Zico!

After a quick oufit change into casual clothing, Sammy and Leo switched up the chill rock atmosphere by entering the stage grooving along to Crush's hit song Oasis. Rapping and dancing, they showed off another side of their charms and had the crowd raving with their hands in the air! This also gave them an opportunity to be extra flirty and live up to their namesake by handing out roses to fans. The entire performance was lit.

Dylan and Jeff had their own special stage that also changed up the atmosphere with a calm, sweet performance. Dylan, normally their drummer, showed off his vocals, and Jeff, normally their bassist, showed off his guitar skills!

4. A dance-roast session between Sammy and Leo.

This was a moment that had the audience breaking out in laughter (and affection): Sammy and Leo dancing on stage. They were pretty good for a rock band that doesn't need to have dancing skills in order to take the music industry by storm! Though, Sammy still jokingly exclaimed to Leo: "I don't think we're ever gonna do this again, cause you're a sh*t dancer". Lots of laughs all around.

5. Their covers of well-known love songs.

The night was packed with covers of classics meant to make you swoon, like Jason Mraz's "What a Beautiful Mess", Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely", Bruno Mars' "Marry You", Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud", and ending with The Script's "Breakeven". Covering such recognizable songs allowed for accessibility to the American crowd while captivating the audience with The Rose's unique vocals and sound.

6. Hearing and even singing an unreleased song of The Rose!

The crowd went wild at the mention of The Rose performing "the song that you've never heard before" -- an unreleased track! The band taught the audience a simple vocal line consisting of "Oh oh oh~"'s in a call-and-return manner, and let the fans sing the line as an introduction to the song. The experience added exclusivity and excitement to an already amazing setlist, and definitely added to the anticipation of The Rose's next releases.

7. Having a special "moment to remember".

The band sets themselves apart from any other with their unique, unmatched sound; it turns out they are unmatched in thoughtfulness towards their Black Roses as well! Sammy sweetly requested: "Let's have a little moment to remember this night..." The band took a moment to turn the venue lights on and look out into the crowd, and sincerely try to remember every face. You could feel every fan's heart swell.

The Rose's 2018 Paint it Rose World Tour NYC Stop was by far a night to remember, filled with great music, amazing musicians, and so much love for The Rose.
