WINNER members assure fans Kang Seung Yoon is "getting better"

Two days after Kang Seung Yoon got hospitalized, WINNER members Song Mino, Lee Seung Hoon, Kim Jin Woo gave an update regarding their group leader's health.

On Tuesday, June 4, the three members guested at the radio show PowerFM's "Park So Hyun's Love Game." While Seung Yoon was not able to attend the program, his fellow members brought a picture of him instead. Thankfully, they revealed that he is getting well.

"He's getting better. He's gotten a lot better. You don't have to worry. Since we're young, he got a lot better after resting. We video-called him and his condition looked okay," the group shared.

This plight made the rest of the group members realize one thing.

"I learned about the importance of Kang Seung Yoon. My heart hurts that there's no one at the fourth mic," lead rapper Seung Hoon said.

Since their leader is presently unavailable, the host queried on who temporarily replaced Seung Yoon's place.

"Many people might not know this but the original leader was Song Mino. We call him 'former leader,'" the members shared.

On Sunday, June 2, Seung Yoon was reportedly brought to the hospital after he showed symptoms of Herniated Disc; thus, WINNER canceled their supposed appearance on "Inkigayo." The singer took to his Twitter account to express his apologies to the fans.

"I'm sorry for causing you to worry ... I wanted to participate in the 'Inkigayo' performance and fan sign event today, but I decided that the right thing to do is to recover quickly and avoid affecting our other activities! From now on, I'll take good care of my body and avoid creating situations that will make our Inner Circles worry!" He wrote.

Shortly after, YG Entertainment released an official statement regarding Seung Yoon's condition.

Excerpts from the letter stated:

"WINNER will, unfortunately, be unable to perform on the live broadcast of SBS's "Inkigayo" today."

"While waiting for the rehearsal, Kang Seung Yoon felt symptoms of a herniated disc in his neck, and he was sent to the emergency room in a nearby hospital."

"Kang Seung Yoon strongly wished to perform to keep his promise with fans, but he has decided not to participate in today's "Inkigayo" stage according to the agency's and producers' suggestions."

The agency also apologized and asked for the fans' understanding regarding the unfortunate situation. Nevertheless, the firm assured that WINNER will pick up where they left off as soon as Seung Yoon recovers.
