Multi-talented K-pop star Kang Daniel, a former member of the now-disbanded group Wanna One, is gearing up for the release of his debut solo material. And as part of his plan, he has recently set up his own agency, listing himself as the Chief Executive Officer.

The company is called KONNECT Entertainment -- a play on the words "Korea" and "connect." According to a source from the newly-established firm, Daniel's decision to create his own entertainment company "is based on his huge desire to return to his fans quickly."

“Because it is his own agency, helping him move more intensively and effectively, it is best suited to help him prepare quickly for his activities and promote as soon as possible," the source further shared.

In a recent Instagram Live broadcast, Daniel shared that he is in the "middle of preparing [his] new music." However, the actual date of his solo debut's release is yet to be revealed.

“This time around, I am taking part in its production process - especially in writing and composing. Currently, I am looking at how I can better convey my message through music, so please look forward to it," he told directly to his followers.

Daniel first opened his Instagram account on January 2 of this year to signal the start of his solo career.

Besides sharing his future plans, he also thanked his fans for supporting him, especially "during tough times."

Back in May, the Seoul Central District Court favored Daniel's side regarding the case he filed against his former agency, LM Entertainment, for allegedly breaching his contract. With this, he can now independently embark on his entertainment endeavors.

Nonetheless, he still has to go to court for questioning on June 12 as LM Entertainment filed an appeal about the court's earlier decision.

The versatile K-pop act was first introduced in the music industry when he debuted as a member of Wanna One in 2017. He is also an alumnus of the second season of the well-followed talent search, "Produce 101."

Wanna One held their last series of concerts from January 24 to 27, 2019.
