EXO’s D.O. Joins the Army, Unveils New Solo Single

The time has come for D.O. to bid his temporary goodbye! On July 1, the K-pop idol finally began his mandatory military enlistment, making him the second EXO member to do so after Xiumin.

On social media, their agency SM Entertainment uploaded photos of the K-pop group (sans Xiumin) sending off D.O. to the army. The images serve as a memorable souvenir as they feature the eight (out of 9) EXO members including Lay, whose being based in China makes it hard for him to join the boy band's activities.

The upload was sweetly captioned, "We are one EXO."

On the same day of his enlistment, the 26-year-old singer also released his latest solo song - marking his last release before going through a temporary hiatus. The song titled "That's Okay" was penned by D.O. himself.

Warm and consoling, the guitar-driven pop-R&B tune puts the spotlight on D.O.'s mesmeric vocals. The lines speak about embracing the emotions we feel as we brave through life.

The tune, being so reassuring and comforting, well embodies D.O.'s yearning to console his fans as he makes a two-year departure from the entertainment scene.

In a previous statement, the EXO member revealed how apologetic he was to bring the sudden news of his enlistment to his followers.

Proving to be well-received by the listening public, "That's Okay" topped the iTunes charts in the different countries across the globe, including the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, and Indonesia.
Different hashtags like "That's Okay It's Kyungsoo" also trended worldwide on Twitter.

As a member and vocalist of the globally famous K-pop act, he is known for hits like "Love Shot," and "Monster." His first offering as a soloist was when he released the track "Crying Out" as one of the theme songs of the 2014 film, "Cart," which marked as his movie debut.

Apart from being an acclaimed vocalist, D.O. has also risen to become one of South Korea's most prominent young actors.
