Weki Meki's Choi Yoojung will be halting activities for a while due to health reasons. We apologize for conveying this sudden news to Ki-Ling who has sent her so much love.

For the time being, Choi Yoojung will be sitting out of all scheduled activities and focusing on having sufficient rest and recovering her condition. Weki Meki will be promoting with seven members for now, until Choi Yoojung's health has recovered.

We will do our best so that Choi Yoojung can recover. We apologize for concerning Ki-Ling and please continue to support Weki Meki's Choi Yoojung. Thank you."

Choi Yoojung and her band member Kim Doyeon earlier made an appearance on the variety program TMI News where they talked about the issues concerning their health. Kim Doyeon confessed that she is struggling with vagus neuropathy, a condition that affects the motor branches of the vagus nerve that results in paralysis of the vocal folds and sensory branches.

This is why the female idol's diet is strict and different from the others. She also has to sit down whenever the symptoms pop up or else she'll faint.

"I suffer from vagus neuropathy. When I feel the symptoms arise, I have to sit down but if I have to keep standing there are times when I faint. The symptoms get worse when I'm dieting," she revealed.

Choi Yoojung, on the other hand, disclosed that she has bad joints to the extent sometimes that she had to resort to getting painkiller injection. Unfortunately, this concern is not easily gotten rid of since she's always performing.

"My joints aren't very good. There are times when the pain gets so bad that I have to get painkiller shots into my joints," she shared.

It is uncertain whether this health concern is the reason for the idol's leave of absence. This also most probably means that she will be sitting out of the group's upcoming performances in the opening of Korea's biggest mall chain in Texas, Zion Market. Reports said that the market will hold a K-pop festival in the region on October 26 and 27 and that they are slated to perform alongside Chic Angel.
