Singer and musical actor Junsu, a member of the group JYJ, claimed that he was duped tens of billions of KRW during the sale of the Toscana Hotel on Jeju Island.

According to the police on Friday (local time), Junsu and his father recently filed a complaint against the man, identified only by his surname Jeong, to the Seongnam branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office on charges of fraud under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes, and the Seoul Jungbu Police Station is currently investigating the case.

Junsu and his father claim that they suffered about 30 billion KRW in fraud in January 2017, including 24 billion KRW from the sale and 6 billion KRW related to the near-subsidiary right of a nearby site, during the sale of the Jeju Toscana Hotel located in Seogwipo, Jeju Island. JYJ's claims that Jeong is not a party to the contract and is reportedly denying the charges, taking issue with the complaint itself.

Toscana Hotel on Jeju Island was sold to a Busan-based company for 24 billion KRW on Jan. 2, 2017, and the ownership was transferred again to a trust company in Seoul on Jan. 26.

Junsu was embroiled in controversy over the sale of the hotel at the time. He was accused of selling the hotel at a premium while enjoying various benefits, including tax breaks, from Jeju Island and others by using his Hallyu star reputation.
