IU, Park Jimin, Yewon Reveals Sexual Harassment, K-pop Stars Suffering from Malicious Comments

The K-pop stars have once again have drawn their swords due to malicious comments.

The death of K-pop actress-singer Sulli drew plenty of attention to cyberbullying, malicious attacks by online trolls. Despite such outbursts, the main problem doesn't seem to be going anywhere soon.

Singer and actor IU has warned of legal action against hate comments and untrue rumors.

IU's label Kakao M announced on the signer's official Twitter account that the company is taking legal action to curb the spread of false rumors and spiteful comments.

The label made it clear that it will respond firmly to libelous slander without prior consultation, and that it has no mercy in continuing the efforts to uproot insensitive comments.

Since 2013, IU has declared a strong response to angry commenters and has maintained a strong legal stance against them.

Most recently, singer Park Jimin declares a fight against hate comments after experiencing sexual harassment posting glamorous photos of herself on Instagram.

The singer issued a stern warning through her Instagram on Oct 18 (local time). She stated she would file a full report regarding distasteful DM.

Former Jewelry member Yewon uploaded a screenshot on her Instagram, showing many malicious comments. She included a caption, "If you have nowhere else to take out your anger, it makes you comfortable doing this, then do it. You will get back what you deserve for hurting others."

The fight against online trolls is not just a day or two, but considering recent events, the severity of cyberbullies targeted at celebrities has come into the light. Amid the growing concern, the Korea Entertainment Management Association announced that it would enforce rules against netizens to punish them severely.
