The Korean singer-songwriter HyunA shared her mental health problems. The singer opened up about her struggles on an Instagram post but reassured her fans that she will do her best to take care of herself moving forward. The post came after she lost both her friends to depression.

The Instagram post read:

"Hello my beloved fans and anyone who supports me. I don't know if I'm doing the right thing but I want to share what I've been feeling for the longest time.

To be honest, I have been dreaming of being on stage since I young, somehow I made that dream come true. I have garnered lots of love and attention. I always knew I had better opportunities than most and I've always been thankful although sometimes, I feel sorry for that also. As I grew up, I felt pressured not to make any mistakes or I would face bigger consequences.

I prioritized my work and had forgotten about my mental health. I kept disregarding how I felt because I wanted to continue gaining support from everyone. I thought it was ok because I have good friend s and fans that are always there for me.

It was in 2016 when I first realized that I wasn't okay. I deferred the doctor's appointment for years, but in 2016 I went and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. I was shocked to hear it. I couldn't believe it. I was in denial. I continued to see my doctor up to this day biweekly, and I try not to overthink my situation. Sometimes, I see my doctor more often than, I would collapse and blackout. It happened several times.

Initially, I thought it was due to anxiety but it turns out I have vasovagal syncope. I wanted to hide the condition out of fear of not getting jobs because I was sick. But I have to be open about it now. I'm sorry to everyone who trusted me and took a chance on me on a job, I'm sorry if I couldn't meet your expectations anymore. I just want to be honest about it now. I will first start taking care of myself. No one is perfect, but I want to be able to love and take care of myself from now on. Thank you for taking the time to read this post."

Netizens felt sad for HyunA but they also cheered her up saying "Go HyunA fighting."

Get well soon HyunA!
