Blackpink's Jennie "SOLO" MV Reached 400 million Views

Blackpink's Jennie just made another YouTube record in the history of K-Pop. She has been declared to be the "First and Best" Korean female solo artist this year. Jennie's music video for "SOLO" reached 400 million views on YouTube at 4:34 a.m. on Wednesday. And to mark this occasion, YG Entertainment posted an exclusive poster on its official blog (www.yg-life.com), sharing the joy with the fans of Jennie and Blackpink as well.

This music video for the BLACKPINK member's solo track was released to the public last November 12, 2018, at 6 p.m. KST. By December 12 of this year, the music video had already reached 400 million views. This is the first-ever Music Video by a Korean female soloist to reach this milestone as it ranked Number 1 charts nationally and abroad.

Jennie, which opened as the first runner of Blackpink's one-man project by releasing "SOLO" last year, was hugely popular at the time. This made her topping the real-time trends, and at the same time, the daily and weekly charts of the country's major music sites. Overseas, she was able to confirm her global influence by topping 40 regional iTunes chart, also topping the iTunes World Wide Song Chart for the first time as a Korean female solo artist, plus she is also included in the U.S. iTunes Top 10.

Driven by the hottest momentum from the fans and the netizens, the music video for "SOLO" surpassed 100 million views in just 23 days of its release, breaking the record for the fastest breakthrough for a Korean female solo artist, given that she's a new soloist. Since then, she has been loved steadily, the views also went up to 200 Million views in just 90 days after a continued admiration from her fans, and it reached 300 Million views in 182 days from its release. Jennie, without a shock, also ranked 27th in the personal category list of the World's Most Popular K-Pop Stars for the year of 2019, according to Tumblr, a well-known U.S. social networking site. It was the highest-ranking among female K-pop group members who are also in the chart.

In the other news, Blackpink Jennie, alongside her fellow groupmates Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo won the Group of 2019 category, Music Video of 2019 category for Kill This Love Music Video, and the Concert Tour of 2019 category with Blackpink World Tour (In Your Area), winning a total of three gold medals at the recent U.S. pop culture awards show the E! People's Choice Awards. Blackpink has also sold out their Tokyo Dome concert, which took place last Friday, December 6, marking the start of their spectacular tour in Japan. And so, they will continue their enthusiasm and hype for their fans at their Kyocera Dome in Osaka this coming January and Yahoo Oak Dome in Fukuoka in the month of February.

Meanwhile, Blackpink is preparing to release their new album early next year. Fans' expectations are high just to hear the news of their comeback after being in and out of the country.
