K-pop Rookies that You Should Watch Out This Year

1.      B.O.Y.

Kim Kookheon and Song Yuvin who had previously appeared on Mnet "Produce X 101" and debuted as members of MyTeen in 2017, will be embarking on their new journey as a duo. On Nov. 12, it was announced by their agency Music Works, that these idols will be debuting as a duo under the name B.O.Y (pronounced as B.OF YOU) at early 2020. After going through over 2000 submissions from their Fanclub, they had decided on the name B.O.Y. which has the meaning of "Best Of You" and "Both Of You". "Since it is our second and third debut, we will become more and more amazingly grown singers based on our last debut," they said. As their fresh new start, many fans could not wait to see their new beginning as they officially debuted last January 7th with mini album "Phase One : YOU."

2.      MCND

MCND, a new group from T.O.P. Media Group and became the talk of the town through its pre-release stage, officially released its pre-released song "TOP GANG" on the 2nd and went on the music show for 2 weeks starting with Mnet's "M Countdown" on the same day. "TOP GANG," which features confidence, is composed by member Castle J. and written by rapper line Castle J., BIC and WIN, adding Minjae and Hwijoon's distinctive vocals to the rapper line's intense rapping. While MCND is showing off its "fake rookie" level with its pre-released stage before its official debut, expectations are mounting for MCND's new appearance in the future.

On the same day, MCND added styling by giving a yellow spot to the black-studded outfit, and dominated the stage with a strong performance and a stable live performance, drawing attention from fans.

3.      DKB

Brave Entertainment has been teasing their new boy group for some time and many fans are getting more and more curious about this boy group that consists of 9 members. And it has already confirmed that the group will debut on the 3rd of February with their debut album called "Youth." 4.      TOO

Global idol group TOO was born. The final member of the 10-member group TOO was selected in the final episode of "TO BE WORLD KLASS," a global K-pop idol growth journal that was broadcast live on Mnet and Naver VLIVE at night. In the live broadcast on the same day, three people were selected for the cumulative screening of the World Class Committee, three for the mission and the accumulated screening of experts, and four for the final TOO group. With this decisions made for the group TOO, there are 10 boys who had gone through an audition survival program and made it to the debuting group. Not long ago, the final lineup was decided and the boys will be debuting in 2020.

5.      2Z

2Z released their first EP album "WE Tuzi" on the 14th, and made their debut on Mnet's "M Countdown," Arirang TV's "Music Bank," "Simply K-pop," and SBS's "Inkigayo" on the 14th.2Z released its debut album and successfully completed its first week of activities. Before releasing their debut album officially, 2Z released "My First Hero" on the stage of various music shows, starting with "Music Bank" on the 3rd, and the group set its eyes on the public by trying to differentiate itself into its own colorful colors.

"My First Hero," the title track of its debut album "WE Tuzi," which has a team name, has built a style of music of 2Z as a new genre combining the genre of punk, electric and dance with the genre of screamo and crunk core.  Meanwhile, 2Z will continue to make an active debut with the title track "My First Hero" from its first EP album.
