TWICE Joint Hands With US Republic Records Embark On Their Worldwide Journey

TWICE will join hands with renowned U.S. label Republic Records to tap into overseas markets.

The Republic Records under Universal Music reportedly told local media on Monday that they have signed a strategic collaboration with JYP Entertainment for TWICE's global performance as of New York Times.

"We will present the music of the most powerful K-pop girl group TWICE, which recorded a multi-platinum, to the rest of the world," the CEO said, expressing high expectations and appreciating TWICE's value.

He then introduced TWICE as a group that continues its record-breaking streak by adding mega-hit songs, music videos, and focusing on its unique achievements. Including the music video of "TT," which has more than 500 million views on YouTube, showed the impact TWICE had built for their name-adding the combined total of 8 million albums sold in Korea and Japan and the world tour at the most notable concert venues such as "The Forum. 

In addition, they also described JYP Entertainment as "the best label in K-pop" and explained it as a place that exudes numerous superstars such as Wonder Girls, 2PM, GOT7, DAY6, Stray Kids, and ITZY with outstanding influence in Korea.

"I'm happy to be with the No.1 label, Republic Records," said Jung Wook, CEO of JYP Entertainment. " We hope the two companies will be able to present a new future of K-pop to fans around the world through TWICE," the company added to their in a statement.

Monte Lipman, chief executive and chairman of Republic Records, said, "I have watched producer Park Jinyoung over the past two decades and have always admired the success his company has achieved." 

Based on the organization's vision and breakthrough achievements, he is said to have taken the vanguard of popular culture. Through TWICE, the two companies expressed the meaning of the collaboration, saying, "We are delighted to have such a wonderful company and TWICE as our partners."

Republic Records is a record label company founded by the Monte Lipman and Avery Lipman brothers and is said to have a unique presence that has topped Billboard's label list over the years. There are many famous artists, including Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Post Malone, that are managed under this recording company.

Such a strategic partnership between Republic Records and JYP Entertainment, which leads K-pop, is said to have attracted the attention of the U.S. media, including Billboard, a media outlet specializing in music. 

Meanwhile, TWICE is said to have consistently maintained its top spot since its debut in 2015 and reign as the "representative K-pop girl group." From their debut song "OOH-AHHHH" to their latest film "Feel Special," a total of 12 active music videos have reportedly garnered 100 million views on YouTube. The group was said to currently hosting a large-scale world tour called "TWICE WORLD TOUR 2019 TWICELIGHTS" in 17 regions around the world.

 Republic Records is a record label established by the Monte Lipman and Avery Lipman brothers.
