K-pop is currently dominating global countries as well as continuously expanding as the years go by. In this sense, the Korean Government Ministry of Culture, which is responsible for introducing the Korean culture to others, is conducting a survey every year to about 8,000 people from different parts of the world, if which K-pop bands and Korean artists they preferred the most. Here are the top 10 Korean Pop Idol groups which were chosen by people across the world, including Asian countries and western cities that they like the best. 


10. Super Junior

One of the pioneers of the second generation of K-pop, the "Hallyu Kings" set their name on the tenth spot. Not only were they popular in Asian countries, but they also paved the way for Middle East countries, making them the first K-pop group to perform in Saudi Arabia. 
9. IU

Lee Ji Eun, or popularly known as IU, ranked #9. Because of her amazing talents, visuals, and charms, she was immediately loved by other races. Aside from her soothing voice, wherein she recently wrapped up a successful tour, "Love, Poem" in Asia, she also captures fans' hearts through her acting in "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" and "Hotel Del Luna."


8. EXO

EXO is not only popular in Korea but is also the most loved group in China, given that they also have a sub-unit for Mandarin music. Awarded as the Favorite group in the same country this year, every time EXO has a tour in different countries, may it be Asia, Europe, or America, they can always make history, having "sold-out" concert tickets after minutes of release. 

7. G-Dragon

Member of the "Kings of K-pop" BIGBANG, G-Dragon is holding the title of one of the artists who owns several music copyrights. Despite going on hiatus for almost two years due to military service, G-Dragon's and BIGBANG's music continues to dominate the mainstream.

6. Girls' Generation

Amidst absence of whole group comeback, the second generation "Nation's Girl Group" ranked No. 6. The group was still the crowd's favorite and were supported even on their solo concerts and fan meeting.

The third-generation "Nation's Girl Group" sits on the fourth spot. With their engaging and catchy music from "Ooh ah Ooh Ah" to "Feel Special," TWICE was the most favored group, especially in Taiwan and Japan. 

3. PSY

K-pop fan or not K-pop fan, majority of the people know PSY. Reaching out and paving the K-pop music into the mainstream, PSY along with Wonder Girls, TVXQ, H.O.T, Sechskies, and S.E.S, successfully cross the music barriers against other countries. Up until now, "Gentleman" and "Gangnam Style" is still lingering on everyone's mind. 

2. BLACKPINK

Since their debut, BLACKPINK has set its popularity all over the world. Most popular in Thailand and Malaysia, the group has sold out over 20+ concerts. Also, they were not only idols but luxury models and ambassadors as well as promoters of several high-end brands.
