After years of watching from home and wishing you were there, you're finally going to your first music festival. Whether you prefer hip-hop, rapbeats, EDM, Kpop, or a combination of music genres, the hope is that you'll have a really good time. Though similar in many ways to a large concert or live event, attending a music festival is a lot different. If you're going to enjoy yourself, it's highly recommended that you plan in advance using these tips listed below:

Get Your Tickets Early

The first bit of advice is to get your tickets as early as possible. Spaces start to fill up very quickly as music festivals are a big deal.

Plan Your Schedule

Festivals bring out some of the best music talent from all over the world. Chances are you're going to want to see more than one artist. With that in mind, plan your schedule. Review the showing times and stages for each performer to determine where you need to be and when. You may come to find that some of your artists are playing at the same time, in which case, you'll have to decide which you want to see more.

Get a Map

Most music festivals have maps to make it easier for attendees to figure out where things are. It saves you a lot of time wandering around trying to find the nearest restroom or stage before the show starts. Maps tend to get picked up quickly so be sure to get your hands on one bright and early.

Pack Comfortable Clothing

It's one thing to want to look great for selfies and social media, but when attending a music festival, comfort is key. You're going to be outdoors for several hours at a time walking. Be sure to dress fairly casual and bring along a few things for comfort like a pair of sneakers, a jacket, or a sweater, just in case it gets cold. An umbrella, poncho, or rainboots might also be ideal if the weather is going to be wet.

Bring Along Sun Protection

Being outdoors all day can have damaging effects on your sun. Even if the sun isn't shining bright or the temperatures aren't hot, too much exposure to the UV rays without proper protection can lead to sunburn and skin cancer. Protect yourself by packing some sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to protect your skin from the sun.

Bring Money

Listening to your favorite artists and bands isn't the only thing that's going on at a music festival. You'll also find a lot of vendors with custom printed tents selling everything from food to t-shirts and music memorabilia. The odds of you not wanting to buy something are very slim. So, be sure that you bring some money along with you. With portable point of sale options these days, you can more than likely bring your credit card to make purchases. Carrying a credit card is a lot safer than carrying cash in a crowded space such as a music festival.

Use a Backpack

You'll need to keep a few things on hand with you while enjoying yourself at a music festival. From a water canteen to a spare jacket, when you have too many things to hold, you can get uncomfortable or lose important items. Pack light and try to get everything into a backpack. This provides you with a comfortable and convenient means for carrying your personal belongings while also saves you from having to pay for a locker for your things.

Bring Your Charger

Imagine having the time of your life and wanting to document it with photos and videos, but your phone or camera has no charge? You'd be surprised how many times this happens to event-goers. Music festivals have charging stations where you can charge your devices. All you need is a charger to plug in and you can continue documenting a pretty cool moment in your life.

Music festivals in Korea are a ton of fun. It's an event for music lovers to let their hair down and have a great time rocking out to their favorite artists and bands. If you have the opportunity to go experience something as great as this massive outdoor concert, be sure to utilize the tips above to ensure you have an amazing time.
