CNBLUE's Kang Min Hyuk, Lee Jung Shin To Be Discharged Due To COVID-19

CNBLUE's Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Jung Shin will soon be dismissed from their service as per military protocol to combat COVID-19. The Idol's agency FNC Entertainment released a statement on March 4.

"On March 19, our artists Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Jung Shin will be discharged from their Military Services, and will not be returning from their ETS leaves as part of military protocol.

South Korea's National Defense has been exerting extra efforts to manage and the narrowing of leave and visits for martial crews since February. This is part of the Korean Military's protocol to contain the transmission of the novel coronavirus that hit South Korea and took thousands of lives already. 

The lay off dates have been fixed and that those who are on their final leave earlier than the date they were supposed to be discharged are ordered to be dismissed without returning to their bases, as per military courtesy. 

On February 26, It has been reported that 2PM's Wooyoung was also a part of this military protocol. He has been discharged two days earlier than his expected exit from his service. 

On March 3 and 4, CNBLUE's Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Jung Shin finally left to take their ETS leaves, but the discharge date is still the same and that they will follow orders not to return to their respective bases. 

It was on July 31, 2018, when the CNBLUE members Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Jung Shin entered their respective training centers. 

As reported, the enlistment happened without the media knowing where the event took place and had successfully accomplished their agendas to enter the military without the paparazzi taking their pictures and doing live coverages. 

Before entering the military, Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Jung Shin shared their last photos and videos through their Instagram account revealing their farewell messages and new haircut look. 

Lee Jung Shin was the first to upload a video and photos captioning "I will return well. Thank you, everyone.

On the other hand, Kang Min Hyuk also uploaded a series of photos on his Instagram account showing off his new buzz cut with a caption, "I will be going now." He also uploaded a gym photo with its owner expressing how he is worried to leave without working out, and that he will become skinny again after leaving the gym. "I will miss you," he added. 

The Idols have reportedly enlisted in the military, serving the 55th Division in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province and the 32nd Infantry Division in Sejong, City. Since then the Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Jung Shin have proven their loyalty and acted rightfully as duty soldiers.

CNBLUE debuted is a pop rock band that debuted in 2009, consisting of the leader and rapper Jung Yong-hwa, drummer Kang Min Hyuk, and bassist Lee Jung Shin. The three are also actors, with Min Hyuk starring in 'The Princess and the Matchmaker' and 'Hospital Ship'. Yong-hwa, on the other hand, headlined 'The Three Musketeers' and 'The Package'.
