List of K-pop Idols Who Were Friends Even Before Debut
Many K-pop idols have friends outside their respective agencies. They may be close to their group members but will always find a way to interact with their old-time friends and members of other groups, and would often hang out with them if they have free time.
Here is a list of the K-pop idol friendships that started before their debuts and still remained intact after making their names in the world of K-pop!
EXO's Kai and Hotshot's Timoteo
"We looked like very close friends because we don't see each other a entertainers, and or celebrities in the first place. Just friends."
EXO's Kai and Hotshot's Timoteo still continue to go out to have good time together, along with their other friends in the industry, such as SHINee's Taemin, BTS's Jimin, VIXX's Ravi, and Ha Sungwoon. They were named by their fans as "The Padding Friends."
It was in April 2019 when Kai, Timoteo, and their squad visited Cebu, Philippines and was spotted in a restaurant eating altogether!
BIGBANG's Taeyang and G-Dragon
Taeyang and G-dragon have been friends since they were young. G-dragon shared his statement about their friendship, "When I first met Youngbae (Taeyang's real name), he is not the type of person you could just pass by. We both got close after knowing each other that tie. We have the same personalities so we never get into fights even up to now."
"I was shy when I was young, but after going through my teen years I become confident. Taeyang, on the other hand, is a very hyper kid, very loud but now that he ha grown he became serious and quiet," he added.
MAMAMOO's Wheein and Hwasa
Hwasa and Wheein have been friends since their middle school days.
Hwasa narrated, "When we went abroad to pursue our career schedules, we still get goosebumps. We just thought about the things that could have happened if ever we did not share this dream together. We are both determined to move to Seoul, Korea to pursue our dreams. To be singers. Although we know that this isn't guaranteed yet we still tried our luck. We are realy lucky."
BLACKPINK's Lisa and Got7's Bambam
Also known as the "Thai Duo," Bambam and Lisa have been friends since they were young. They have been good childhood friends for 12 years!
BamBam started his journey in the K-pop Industry in 2014 when he made his debut under the management of JYP Entertainment, while Lisa debuted as a member of BLACKPINK in 2016.
BTOB's Hyunisk and EXO's D.O
The two K-pop Idols went to the same high-school. They are known because of their performance in a school festival when they sang the famous 2AM's track "This Song."
Zico and Park Kyung (BLOCK B)
Zico and Park Kyung both went to the same primary school. Zico shared, "Park Kyung had really good grades back when we were kids in the primary school. He's very thoughtful he would share his answer sheets to the kids around him."
Zico invited Park Kyung in the world of K-pop and started their careers by auditioning together.
