Fly to The Sky's Hwanhee Under Investigation for DUI Incident + Agency Apologizes
Fly to The Sky's Hwanhee is currently under investigation on the grounds of driving under the influence of alcohol.
It was on March 21 when reports revealed that Hwanhee was caught by the police for driving while intoxicated by liquor. The Gyeonggi Yongin Southern Provincial Police Agency who handled Hwanhee's case shared that they have collected all his personal information on the spot for violating the traffic law.
The authorities have charged the idol for driving unider the influence his Mercedez-Benz car in the Bojeong neighborhood in Gheung, Yongin at 6 A.M. KST on March 21 that also resulted in a minor collision.
When Hwanhee was found by the police, the singer reportedly had a blood alcohol content on him amounting to 0.061 percent, which can be grounds to have his driving license suspended. With his personal information confiscated by the authorities, he will be following orders to go to the police station next week for questioning.
Due to this unfortunate news, Hwanhee's agency H2Media released its official apology statement regarding the incident for the fans whom the singer have disappointed.
The agency wrote:
"Hello, This is Hwanhee's management H2Media.
First, we would like to apologize for bringing all of you a piece of unfortunate news regarding our artist.
We hereby confirm the news on March 21, that links to our label artist Hwanhee have been caught by the police because of driving under the influence of alcohol that caused a minor impact collision, in which we admit is an inexcusable wrong action.
We guarantee everyone that our artist Hwanhee will fully cooperate with the authority's investigation and that he will receive the appropriate punishment he deserves.
Again, we deeply apologize for causing the fans to worry about the wrong action that should not have happened.
Thank you for your understanding."
Hwanhee first debuted as an actor in 2006 and made his live appearance in the Korean drama "Over the Rainbow" with artists Seo-Ji-Hye, Ji Hyun-Woo, and Kim Ok-bin.
Born as Hwang Yoon-Seok, Hwanhee is a member of the R&B duo Fly to The Sky along with Brian Joo. They debuted under the management of H2media in 1999 with the album "Day by Day.
