Shinhwa Shunned From Inkigayo? Fans Flood The Program's Website With Demands

Since the release of their eleventh album The Classic a couple weeks ago on May 16, veteran idols Shinhwa have been making their rounds of the network music shows - all of them except Inkigayo, that is.

The members have been active in promoting the new album's title track "This Love" on all the major music programs like Music Bank (KBS), Music Core (MBC), Show Champion (MBC Music) and M Countdown (Mnet), but fans are scratching their heads as to why Shinhwa remains absent from the SBS network's Inkigayo.

There has been no official word on exactly why this is, however many feel Shinhwa's absence is due to some residual tensions between the group and the network.

The same situation happened with the group's comeback last year when it was rumored that Shinhwa was not invited to the SBS stage due to tensions between the music and entertainment departments over the idols' appearances on different gameshows.

Other issues arose last year when the guys chose the cable channel JTBC for their variety show Shinhwa Broadcast rather than one of the major networks.

And now it seems that network politics may be getting in the way of Shinhwa's music yet again.

Fans, however, are not having it, and they have decided to take matters into their own hands.

For the past several days Shinhwa supporters have been flooding Inkigayo's official website with requests for their beloved idols to appear on next week's broadcast.

The overwhelming number of messages have been posted to the show's Singer Request, Viewer's Opinion, and Star Fan Diary pages. The posts are a wide array of emotions with fans showing equal amounts of confusion and outrage, and many are simply pleading with the Inkigayo producers to feature Shinhwa in an upcoming broadcast.

Meanwhile, the elder idols have been killing it on the other music shows and won Music Core and M Countdown this past weekend.

The guys are also gearing up for their 2013 Shinhwa Grand Tour: The Classic tour which will kick off in Hong Kong on June 8 and take them around Asia for a total of 12 concerts.
