Seungri's squad published the first photo of him in the army wearing his uniform. The K-pop singer could be seen with 7 other officers of his training team in a post shared by the Military training Center monitoring Facebook page.

Seungri could be seen wearing the mask of a military-style and saluting his co cadets.

 

"Seungri is currently preparing to be a platoon leader in the First Class, Fifth Brigade Artillery," said the Center for Army Preparation

Seungri is, as per the post, one of the Battalion's platoon leaders. The task of the leader of the platoon is to guide his colleagues of the troop in the regular training drills that are carried out. Although the details vary between training facilities, the training academy's platoon commander is usually chosen depending on their leadership abilities, character and willingness to carry out their duties.

On March 9, 2020, Seungri enrolled in the military. He was initially expected to enlist on March 25, 2019, but subsequent to the Burning Sun fiasco his enlistment was postponed.

In September 2021, he is scheduled to be released from military service.

SEUNGRI's LIFE & CAREER

Seungri was a leading vocalist and youngest South Korean boy band Big Bang under the name YG Entertainment, who were one of Asia's best-selling all-time digital bands and one of the best-selling boy bands worldwide.

With the success of Seungri's second studio album, Remember (2008), in which Seungri alone played the second hit, "Strong Baby," he started to portray a much more refined image as an Idol. With the release of his first extended music, V.V.I.P in 2011, Seungri strengthened his image in the public.

The EP made its first appearance with the Gaon chart, featuring two singles: "VVIP" and "What Should I Do" (Korean: os Alas; Revised Romanization: Eojjeolago). The first reached number seven and placed over 50,000 copies on Gaon Digital Chart.

He improved his second Korean EP Let's Talk About Love (2013), which became his second number one album and sold more than 80,000 copies. In 2018, he launched the hit song The Great Seungri, the first Korean studio album and set out on his first international solo tour.

On 11 March 2019, following reports that Seungri had provided prostitutes in 2015, he left for both the big bang and film industries; the Burning Sun controversy had already been investigated by the authorities.

OTHER VENTURES

Seungri decided to set up two branches of the "Plugin Music Academy," also called the "Seungri Academy" music and dance school. Gwangju, Daejeon, Mokpo, and Seoul are the locations of the Dance Academy.

Academy students are taught how to sing, dance and act. Many of the former academy graduates include leading K-pop personalities such as 2NE1's Minzy, BTS 'Jung Hoseok, Kara's Goo Hara, Yunho TVXQ and Zelo B.A.P.'s.

In 2018 Seungri was reported to collaborate with Liquid State, a recently launched label for electronic dance music from Sony Music Entertainment and Tencent Music Entertainment. He worked as an ambassador for the label and collaborated in music.
