IU Talks About Her Daily Life in Quarantine + Recommends TV Shows To Watch Like Money Heist

IU provided fans with an update on what she's doing all day at home during the quarantine. The singer talked about her recent transfer to another agency, and much more!

On April 17, the singer's company, EDAM Entertainment, released a new video called "IU's Homebody Signal," which is the concept of a radio program with a theme that fits how much of the world is self-isolating during the COVID-19 pandemic. She clarified that it was initially planned with her agency that her fan club members would be given the broadcast as just a link to an audio file.

"That's how it started, but they decided to make it bigger after a while, they put a camera and rented out this place and they said we're making videos that more people will appreciate," she said with a laugh.

"This is how the format developed into a radio program that was available for viewing. They have sent me out to the lounge. I just relaxed at home, too."

She expressed that they would publish upcoming episodes as a surprise without notice. IU even playfully teased the new content production manager of the company by telling fans a hint about her upcoming episodes. IU also assured fans that her TV video show would still be released as usual.

IU then went on to explain what her life was like during the pandemic. "Some of my job plans have been scrapped too," she stated. "My year activities have changed quite a lot." She explained that this year's arrangements have modified to the phrases, "fun, light and a lot," adding, "I wonder when will I ever be allowed to spend another year without any burden? I intend to keep teasing all of you with such unexpected events like this radio program."

She mentioned she has spent lots of time watching tv shows while sitting at home. "I have watched 'Melo Is My Nature' recently," she said. "And 'Money Heist' which many of you have probably seen, too. I stumbled a little late into it. Typically, I can't look at anything that is stressful. But while watching it I realized that each and every role is so beautiful. I watched in about a week before mid-season two."

She further said, "'Money Heist' is labeled 19+, so I don't suggest it to younger people."

She also spoke about why she loves "Melo Is My Nature." She added, "It's light but it also has a meaning to it, and it's a perfect match nowadays for the spring weather."

She suggested it would be perfect for people who wish to experience the thrill of romance in a vicarious way.

"I have been watching '1917' lately too," she said. "I'm also suggesting that."

IU next spoke of her brilliant April Fool's Day prank reaction. On April 1, IU posted a video showing herself "driving" in the passenger seat with her dad, revealing that she'd finally have a driver's license. In the end, however, she admitted that she was actually just pretending to have a fake steering wheel when her father was doing all the driving.

"We got really good feedback to that," she stated, implying that because it was their concept, their managing director was very proud of this.

"I found myself wondering if it would really trick people, but it was everybody," she shared.

IU went on to say that she was the one to invite her dad to take part in the prank, and it was initially only intended as a single video of her. "I think I deserve to receive about 20 percent of the praise, right?" She shared with a good laugh.

"It has 5.3 million views!" The singer added in astonishment. She said, "We have never gotten so many clicks and views. I was shocked. To be able to fool so many people!"

IU also said that she had her close friends sent her messages, saying "You mentioned that you are not going to get yourself a driver's license, but I can't believe you did!" She joked and said, "Some people have not been watching the video until the end." She also mentioned that she is reaching 10 million views.

The adorable K-pop singer then went on to discuss completing the move to a new company. It was announced earlier this year that IU has agreed to sign with EDAM Entertainment, a new firm founded by its 12-year- manager, Bae Jong Han. Most of her employees (referred to as the "IU Team") transferred with her to the new company, a subsidiary of her former Kakao M company.

"I guess they're thinking that I'm going to do a lot of things," IU said with a chuckle, adding that she's feeling more pressure because she's making this new beginning. "I curious to know if everything is ok for someone like me to be doing nothing at home." She said the eyes of her team had twinkled at the concept of the YouTube channel.

IU even spoke about their head of company. "He is an incredibly quiet guy," she said. "He is the person I know most evidently, honest."

She chuckled when she said he's always put her first since her debut and would understand instantly she shouldn't do something if she said she thought it would be too complicated or too hard.

She stated his response to the idea of making her YouTube videos was to say, "Yes go! Do a lot of things, you can do tha! You try to sing! And cook too!"

She ended the show saying, "I felt a strong sense of accountability that's why I decided to do it promptly."
