Girls' Generation May Possibly Have a Comeback After MNET Released a Cryptic “GG” Teaser
On Wednesday, April 23, fans of the "Nation's Girl Group" were thrilled after MNET revealed a mysterious "GG" teaser at midnight KST.
In the teaser video, a cryptic golden logo is seen featuring letters "GG" ensconced in a diamond of some sort. MNET also wrote in the caption, "YOU DONT KNOW WHAT I KNOW," making more netizens more intrigued.

The letter "GG" is prominently linked to SM Entertainment's second-generation group Girls Generation, that's why people immediately suspected that the teaser is connected to the idols. It has been two years since the legendary group, who brought honor to the K-pop industry, had their comeback through the sub-unit Oh!GG. The group is composed of their leader Taeyeon and members Sunny, Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Yoona. After releasing their track, "Lil' Touch," the group didn't promote since, except for solo projects.
Thus, fans, especially SONES, are hoping that this is a hint of the most anticipated reunion and comeback of the iconic group. Knowing that MNET is famous for its music shows as they were a music channel, fans are thinking that this could be a music show gathering the Girls' Generation members.
However, there is no clear reports and explanation yet about the mysterious teaser. The possibility of Girls' Generation's return has been a topic since the year started, particularly in February, after Sooyoung and the other members seemed to hint their fans about a comeback that people have been waiting for a long time.
On February 1, Sooyoung, who came to the variety show "Knowing Brothers," was asked about the groups' return, and she answered, "I am willing to do it right away. If the situation permits and the requirements are met, we could come here [in Knowing Brothers] again." She also reminded the hosts to wait for that day to come.

The positive reply of Sooyoung made SONEs' hearts merry, giving them hope that the girls will return soon.
The chances of Girls' Generation comeback increases as the members simultaneously updated their social media accounts, hinting an event that would happen as well as expressing how they miss their fans a lot.On February 15, Hyoyeon was seen in SM Entertainment's building. In addition to this, Taeyeon posted a photo of her with a caption, "SONE, I miss you." Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Yoona also expressed in their comments that they have been missing their fans, too.

What's more? SONEs are claiming that Yuri's magic words are already in progress and are already working after her video in 2010 resurfaced again, saying, "Girls, I love you. In 10 years, it will be 2020 then. I hope we can all have an August comeback."
MNET's teaser might be connected to the female group or not, but fans are nonetheless hoping that Girls' Generation can come back as OT8 physically, though OT9 will always have a special spot in SONEs' hearts.
SM Entertainment is yet to make an announcement about Girls' Generation's comeback.
