Jennie has once again demonstrated her creativity as a performer and as a model with her enchanting facial expressions and captivating look in the May photoshoot for Vogue Magazine.
The BLACKPINK singer shared a story about her journey towards becoming an artist in the interview which followed the fashion shoot. She said, "I can't remember when precisely did I first started singing in front of people and performed, but since I was young, I had always loved music and dancing. I have tons of memories that resurface wherein I was singing or performing as I watch old photographs from my childhood. My normal life had always been etched in singing and dancing with peers."
Jennie has already appeared in several photo sessions for Vogue, and as a global spokesperson for Chanel, she developed an influential role in the fashion industry. Jennie was even invited to be a part of the 2019 Fall/Winter Chanel Show, and she said it was one of her most unforgettable experiences.
She stated, "It was definitely a privilege for me and all the people that were invited to be able to see Karl Lagerfeld's final design first and live in the runway." Jennie also disclosed that while she initially thought it was a terrifying job to work for such a large company, she pushed through with courage, and later on realize that it's the kind of job she loves. She continued, "I feel a unique kind of achievement and satisfaction when making a new image for the label I like, it's like having to work on a piece of new music."
Jennie also spoke about being a musician that breaks boundaries. The singer said it still feels surreal and fantastic that even though she is a singer, she has been drawn into the fashion business.
When questioned if she had any aspirations of establishing her own fashion brand just like Rihanna, whom she always enjoyed listening and watching too as a trainee, Jennie said, "I have never really thought about it yet, but if I were to establish my own fashion company, I would choose to express a more relaxed and natural part of myself. It will most likely be a brand that is simple and convenient for people to purchase and wear, not expensive ones."
In addition to her job in the fashion world, Jennie also expressed that she intends to keep developing as an artist and gain knowledge about photography if the opportunity arises. The stunning BLACKPINK member also shared that she has always wanted to shoot the stunning sky on film, this way, she can express how content she already is while staring intently at the sky.
Jennie has also specified that she loves using video cameras and listening to old LPs from Chet Baker.
In contrast to shooting with her cute dog Kuma, Jennie's mom also went to visit the scene in the middle of the photo session to encourage her daughter. Jennie then stated that the people in her life are the ones that have made her who she is in the present, and that her mom is one of her biggest inspirations and the most significant influence in her life.
Jennie also commented on her popularity internationally saying, "Because my profession is to stand before the public, there are people who are look up to me. People whose lives I've touched through music and some of them are also influenced by me. Because of that, a lot of responsibilities have been placed in my shoulder. Being an idol is just more than performing. Since I have fostered my hopes and aspirations from other artists whom I loved and respected, I hope that in the same way, I can create a positive impact in the lives of others as well.
