SHINEE ONEW's CLUB SCANDAL

News emerged in 2017 that SHINee's Onew was suspected of inappropriately touching a woman at a club. A source accused the icon of having mistakenly touched a lady in her 20's at a Gangnam club.

One woman stated she noticed and felt someone touching her on the night in question, and her friend made a point of saying Onew was the one who did it. They contacted the police and allegedly interrogated those involved for five hours.

The complaint was turned over to the prosecution, and Onew gave his own apologies after a few months of silence for all the distress he had induced his fans to feel. Some people on social media continued to doubt his honesty and behaviour. They asked either for him to leave SHINee or to be withdrawn from the band.

Onew nevertheless did not depart the band. The trial was dropped in early 2018, and he was wrongly convicted and has been found innocent by the prosecutors, although all allegations against him were dropped.

EX-JYJ YOOCHUN'S ALLEGED RAPE SCANDAL

Back in 2016, ex-JYJ member Yoochun encountered some substantial negative publicity. In June, a woman came forth, saying that Yoochun had sexually harassed and raped her in the bathroom of the bar where she was working.

While the charges were indeed severe enough, the suspected victim's partner presented her panties and clothing as proof to the authorities. Soon afterwards, three more women came forth all stating that the artist in a restroom had raped them too.

Proof has been found after a detailed investigative process that Yoochun's first victim had approached his agency and demanded financial compensation before lodging the criminal complaint. She confessed after speaking to her again that the two really had a consensual relationship with the adult. He was later discovered clear and innocent, and all false claims and complaints against the first defendant for making unsubstantiated claims and organized extortion have been presented. She was convicted later that year and sentenced to two years.

TWICE TZUYU's NATIONALITY SCANDAL

Despite being 16 at the time, for one small act, TWICE's Tzuyu acquired some negative publicity. Every participant of TWICE carried the flag of their country of origin throughout an episode of "My Little Television" in 2015, as the party is comprised of a variety of different nationalities.

The regime of Mainland China (People's Republic of China) holds Taiwan under its control while many of the islanders see themselves as autonomous and perceive themselves as the Republic of China.

Operations and activities of the band were scrapped and halted while Chinese netizens stopped supporting entirety JYP Entertainment. Tzuyu issued a public apology a few months later, saying China and Taiwan are one.

KAI's SEXUAL VIOLENCE SCANDAL

Take note: This is not EXO's Kai.

In 2015, popular musical actor and singer Kai was charged with sexual violence after reportedly sending sex images to a fan. Kai proceeded to refute those allegations through his company. The case was ultimately dropped after the inquiry concluded that the social media account concerned was an impostor. 

LOVELYZ JISOO's SEXUAL ABUSE SCANDAL

Lovelyz's Jisoo was facing up an entire range of dreadful charges in 2014. It all commenced with a netizen's accusation that she had a homosexual relationship with a celebrity, falsely claiming that Jisoo had sexually harassed her. Shortly after that, other stories started to pop up. Allegations have ranged from rape to abuse. These charges hindered Jisoo's promotion with the band.

This, in turn, led to months of litigation as Woollim Entertainment sued the people for defamation. The perpetrators were ultimately found not guilty of libel, but Woollim Entertainment was persuaded that the false articles had a detrimental effect on the artist and pledged to continue to take action to expose the facts.
