Fans of IU and Lee Joon Gi are screaming for a second season of their love team after the famous South Korean actor greeted the K-pop star and actress on her birthday.
IU celebrated her 28th birthday on the 16th and as expected a lot of her fans, as well as celebrities, greeted her on social media. One of those who expressed their greetings is Lee Joon Gi, her leading man on their 2016, "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" drama. The actor commented, "Happy Birthday too." This did not escape the eyes of the fans and as of press time, his comment got over nine thousand reactions and a lot of fans replied with thrilled.

It seems like Lady Hae Soo and 4th Prince Wang So's love story caught so much attention among IU's fans that they can't just get over it. After her co-star reacted to her Instagram update, they were amazed and literally replied with words of happiness as well as wishing that the two would have a Season 2. Others even suggested that if it would be impossible for another season, a new project of them together would be much appreciated.

Since IU and Lee Joon Gi have worked on the said drama series, they have created a special bond as friends. Several times, they have proven that beyond their characters, they have become good comrades. There was one time when IU jokingly commented on Joon Gi's Instagram photo saying that there is a huge squid swimming in the pool behind him. On the other hand, the actor was also invited in one of IU's anniversary concerts and even wrote a message of gratefulness afterwards. He mentioned that he enjoyed the concert and lauded her for being a great performer.
Although the on-screen couple were last seen together on 'Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo' drama, Lee Joon Gi did a cameo on IU's 'Hotel de Luna." He starred as a priest who was trying to perform excorsism inside the haunted hotel. She expressed her appreciation towards the actor where he perfectly memorized Latin prayer as part of the scene. She added that she felt emotional about it.
Meanwhile, IU and BTS' Suga's collaboration on her "Eight" album launched earlier in May with the single, "Are You Happy" became a huge success after topping music charts globally. On her birthday, she even added a video on her Instagram while playing an acoustic rendition of the song. It was also noted among fans of the deceased idols' f(x) Sulli and SHINee Jonghyun that it somehow depicts the memories of the late stars.
Fans are still hopeful that IU and Lee Joon Gi will again star in another project. However, it is still yet to confirm among both parties. Joon Gi is going to star in an upcoming drama series "Flower of Evil" with Moon Chae Won as confirmed in January of this year. On the other hand, IU and Park Seo Joon's "Dream" movie started filming too.
