A dating rumor recently took the web by storm and the K-pop community after Sports Kyunghang claimed that Jiyeon and Song Jae Rim are dating.
According to the news outlet on May 17, the two went on a drive to Chungju of North Chungcheong Province, as per the confirmation of a local. This became a strong basis that the K-pop idol and the actor have a special relationship.
However, shortly after the news broke, both of their agencies denied the rumor and explained that they are close colleagues who have a common interest.
While members of the K-pop audience are keen on idols dating another celebrity, the mob shared their reactions about the so-called dating rumor between the K-pop star turned actress and the model turned actor.
Hearing about the news, most netizens expressed positive responses.
"Knetz comments about Jiyeon & Song Jae Rim news & most actually think they're a good match, both look like cats, they wished for Jiyeon's happiness," tweeted one fan, who sounded surprised that the Korean fans are mostly giving their approval to the rumored couple.
It's known in the K-pop community that K-netizens are particular when it comes to such issues.
Another netizen shared their thoughts about the issue and believed it is something that should be given respect as part of their personal lives.
The account wrote, "I'm waiting for the day that people stop assuming that every man and woman who interact with each other are dating... And even if they are, it's not that big of a deal, let them be."

Mostly, fans of the T-ARA idol are glad if the rumor was true, saying, "Whether they are dating or not, it's okay! It's up to them whether to confirm or not that they are hanging out as colleagues with the same interest or not! As long as Jiyeon is happy and is able to do the things she likes with guidance from the person she trusts... happy for her."
Although both agencies expressed their denial, some said Song Jae Rim is trying to protect Jiyeon from the hate. Surprisingly, others got dismayed that the dating rumor wasn't true at all.

According to the celebrities' agencies, Jiyeon bought a new bike, which Song Jae Rim is also interested in. Thus, both common interests have led them to bond together in Taebaek Track in Chungju, a province in South Korea. A witness narrated that the two had a stop-over at a gasoline station to refuel, and claimed to have exhibited a different kind of sweetness that is usually seen on romantic couples.
In 2017, news came out that the actor officially joined motorbike racing, and since then, he became one of the celebrity bike racers. It was initially a pastime for him but had developed a sense of passion for such sport. He also owns a license.
On the other hand, Jiyeon's agency said that the artist has recently purchased her bike and plans to learn the sport, so she went with Song Jae Rim, who has the capacity to teach the female idol to bike competently.
Park Jiyeon is debuted in T-ARA in 2009 and became a soloist in 2014. She also starred in several dramas, such as "Dream High 2" and "I Wanna Hear Your Song" with Song Jae Rim and where the two first met. The 35-year-old actor was her leading man in the series.
