YG Entertainment to Hold Their First Producer Global Audition + Details That You Need to Know
Do you have what it takes to be the producer of the next generation of major K-pop idols? If you're dreaming of becoming one, then this is for you! YG Entertainment will hold its first producer audition ever!
On May 25, the agency, YGE, announced on their official website an audition that will change the life of aspiring producers worldwide. One of the major Entertainment in the K-pop industry, YG revealed that they are in search of rookies who will be YG's in-house producers, along with the agency's representative artists, including BIGBANG, AKMU, WINNER, iKON, and BLACKPINK.
In the poster that was posted, the details on how to apply were written, along with the guidelines and requirements. In the shared details, YG Producer Auditions will be open globally, regardless of age, nationality, or academic background, which will allow everyone with skills and talents to participate.
The audition will run from May 25 to June 30, and the application can be submitted through their website. Applicants can choose if what areas they want to apply based on their specialties such as track-maker, topliner, or all-rounder, which will be required to submit at least 2 of their own and original works.
The search for the new sound audition will be divided into two rounds, wherein applicants who will pass the first round after screening will receive an exclusive mentoring from YG producers, which will be held for three months, paid and with creative support from the agency. This will serve as a probationary period to determine if who among the selected applicants will be able to proceed in the second round.
The winner will be determined in the second round and will be working as a producer in YG's in-house.
On a statement given by YG Entertainment, YG said, "We will fully support the development of the original stone and develop their individuality and musical capabilities by utilizing the know-how of YG's customized talent development that has created global artists such as BIGBANG, WINNER, iKON, and BLACKPINK."
Meanwhile, as this is YG Entertainment's first global audition in 24 years since its establishment, the company is anticipating tons of applicants with potential, skills, and talents. They are also excited for the different unique pieces that will be revealed and unleashed through the audition.
One of the most successful in-house producers of YG Entertainment is Teddy Park, who worked with the major discography of the iconic K-pop group 2NE1, BIGBANG, as well as worked with Seven and Uhm Jung Hwa, too.
At the same time, he was known for being one of the people behind the success of the world-renown female group, BLACKPINK.
