Despite their cultural impact, South Korea isn't all about Kdramas, Kpop, and Kbeauty. It also has one of the most influential fashion styles today. Several Korean designers and brands have attended the New York Fashion Week, for instance.

That's not to say that Kdramas and Kpop haven't influenced many individuals to try their fashion style, as well. You can see more and more people donning Korean fashion in the streets, even if you might not realize it.

If you're curious or if you're looking for something new to try, here are the latest Korean trends you should try right now with your friends.

1. Oversized Tops

Oversized tops are nothing new in Korean fashion, yet they continue to be trendy all through these years. South Koreans have already perfected this look; that would make it a waste to throw out something this straightforward and simple yet fashionable.

If you want to try this look, start by looking for a top too big for your size. It can be a jacket, a shirt, a blouse, or anything at all. Make sure you keep it balanced by pairing it with a tight-fitting bottom, a pair of shorts, or a skirt.

Don't worry if it may appear like you're not wearing anything underneath. Wear some statement shoes instead to complete the look.

2. Statement Blazer

Want to look fashionable without going through all that effort of mixing and matching? Buy some statement blazers to cheat your way into a high-fashion look.

Choose blazers with eye-catching colors or prints (bonus points if it's oversized!) and throw it over your normal clothes. No top or bottom is too simple for this type of blazer as it will upgrade any look.

Wear some shorts and boots and you'll look ready for street-style photography. Wear a blouse and slacks underneath and you'll look like a fashionista in the office.

3. Cropped Jackets

Not every fashion in South Korea dictates the use of oversized everything, though. Sometimes, less is more, and that's true for cropped jackets.

As seen on celebrities and runway shows, cropped jackets seem to be trending this season. The crop makes it great for layering styles. It works with jeans, dresses, shirts, skirts, and items you may already have in your closet.

Another advantage is its slimming effect; it will make you look taller.

4. Ruffles

Ruffles

You can still make a statement without bold and edgy features. Let's go a little soft with some ruffles.

They're a great way to add volume to your outfit in an instant. Yes, it's vintage, but aren't they romantic?

They make you look a little more interesting and some designs can fit your more modern taste, as well. If you want to go softer, look for this design with floral patterns.

5. Puff Sleeves

Another romantic element that's popular in Korea right now: puff sleeves. They're subtler than ruffles, but they can add some femininity to your look in an instant.

Puff sleeves come in a variety of styles and colors, so if you still want to look sharp while rocking puff sleeves, nothing's in your way. Go for softer colors and fabric and you have the perfect outfit for brunch. Or look professional with a puffed-up blouse paired with a pencil skirt.

6. Blush Tones

You might also notice the prominence of blush tones in South Korean trends. Pink and purple are in soft hues are a hit among Koreans, and many try to revolve their outfit around this color scheme.

They take this further by applying some blush makeup, too. Blush-toned eye makeup with pink cheeks and soft lipstick makes it look more complete.

Don't forget that your hair can be a part of your outfit, too. This is why you may also see a lot of Koreans with blush-toned hair.

7. Monochromatic

The latest fashion in Korea isn't always colorful or romantic. More and more celebrities and influencers are rocking monochromatic outfits lately, as well.

Pick one color: black or white, and then stick to that when choosing clothing items. Yes, that means to pair your black top with a black skirt and then get some black boots.

Most people, though, like wearing one item with a bold color. A yellow accessory or pink hair makes the whole outfit stand out.

8. Athleisure

If you've been following Korean trends for a while now, you'll notice this style not ever falling out of the list. It's almost a permanent part of their street style as you see women wearing sweatshirts, workout jackets, and clothes from big sports brands on the streets.

More and more brands are catering to this style. You won't even mistake them for gym-goers anymore as they become more creative with their outfits.

9. Chunky Sneakers

Often, you'll see the athleisure style completed with some chunky shoes. However, chunky sneakers cross different fashion styles to become a solid fashion trend in 2020 and the past years.

You can pair them with any style - from casual to romantic. You can wear them with your shorts or your most frilly dresses. They're as versatile as your black pumps, which means it's a worthwhile addition to any wardrobe.

10. Twinning

Do you now have an idea for your next South Korean style outfit? Share that with your friend. And by that, we mean dress up not only in the same style but with similar-looking clothing pieces.

We call this "twinning" because you'll look like adorable twins in the streets. You can go as far as wearing the exact item, but most people make do with what they already have in their closet.

For example, you can pair a white blouse with a black skirt, and your friend can do the same.

Imagine how cute you'll be! Don't forget to take pictures and maybe take a recording. Check out how to record screen on Mac to get started.
