The army musical "Return: The Promise of the Day" (literal title) has officially confirmed that, as a result of previous COVID-19 initiatives, they will postpone their premiere date.

"Return: The Promise of the Day" is an original musical show of the army dealing with the subject of exploring the remains of the honorable military men who made the ultimate sacrifice by offering their lives during the Korean War to protect their nation and its people.

The show features Xiumin and D.O. of EXO, Yoon Ji Sung, Lee Hong Ki of FTISLAND, Sungyeol of INFINITE, Kim Min Suk, Lee Jung Yul, Lee Jae Kyoon, Kim Sejeong of gugudan, and Lee Ji Hye.

The musical was initially scheduled to take place from 4 June until 12 July. However, Insight Entertainment, a production house, made an official statement on May 30 that the schedule for the show would be delayed.

They published, "On May 28 the government released an official statement particularly regarding COVID-19 turnaround. In line with the government initiatives to transiently hold back the production process of multifunctional amenities in the metro area, We agreed to delay the premiere date, and we will scrap the presentations which were initially scheduled to be held around 4 and 14 June and delay the showcase until 16 June."

They ended their announcement with, "The production staff, Army Headquarters, and Insight Entertainment pledged to work hard to return everybody with a fantastic show once our musical show is allowed and ready to initiate. Above all, we pledge to run the show as our highest priority, with the safety of the audience, actors, and crew."

The second rounds issuing tickets, previously slated for June 1, has been put on hold until June 4, together with the launch being rescheduled to June 16. Ticketholders will be reimbursed for showings from 4th to 14th June.

Korea is seeing an increase in COVID-19 notable cases, and the administration declared stronger policies to mitigate the spread of infectious diseases, including temporarily suspending the process of multi-purpose amenities in the metro area, after daily reported cases soared to 79 on May 28.

Meanwhile, popular personalities were selected for a simulcast performance of the "Return: The Promise of the Day" (literal title) military show! 

The musical revealed on May 13 that current-day military veteran Seung Ho will be staged by Lee Jung Yul and Lee Gun Myung whereas EXO's D.O. will perform Seung Ho from the old days. And as for Yoon Ji Sung.

Lee Jae Kyoon and Lee Chan Dong will perform Hae Il, who is held in high regard by his acquaintances for his vast range of knowledge. Hae Il's twin sister Hae Sung will carry Yang Ji Won, Lee Ji Hye, and Kim Sejeong, of gugudan. Kim Ki Soo will perform Jin Goo, who lets his buddies laugh with his innocent heart.

In addition, Seung Ho's grandson Hyun Min is to be performed by Lee Hong Ki of FTISLAND and Xiumin of EXO. Hyun Min 's friend Woo Joo will be portrayed by Kim Min Suk and INFINITE's Sungyeol, who has a stimulating character. 

The musical starts with military veteran Seung Ho roaming from around Dabu neighborhood's mountain ranges in quest of the remnants of his brethren who died during the war. Seung Ho's scenes of the modern-day, returning to see his fellow soldiers, and the young Seung Ho who battled during the Korean War, will change in the show.

The show will also commemorate this year's 70th anniversary of the Korean War, and the 3.17 million soldiers that fought for their commitment and sacrifices in the war.
