K-pop enthusiasts, rejoice, as the next generation of K-pop is coming! 

In May, the talk for the upcoming K-pop groups became a hot topic among fans and netizens. As soon as a chart presenting the possible debut date of the future groups from K-pop agencies, which is allegedly set this 2020-2021, fans and netizens became interested then to the trainees who are the future of the next generation of K-pop.

Previously, the "Big 5" agencies comprising of SM, YG, JYP, Big Hit, and CJ ENM Entertainment had already introduced some of the trainees that music fans should anticipate, and everyone is worth waiting for!  

However, there will always be a trainee who will shine the most among the long lists, and so far, here are the idol trainees who are gaining positive responses from K-netizens and K-pop enthusiasts. 

1. SM Rookies Hina and Ningning

On June 2, a financial analyst, Kim Hyun Yong, stated that SM could possibly be debuting its new girl group this July. Due to this, the anticipation of fans and netizens soars up, leading them to discuss possible members of the new group. Among SM trainees, SM Rookies' Hina and Ningning are some of the trainees who got good responses not only from K-netizens but also from international fans.

In particular, these two idol trainees have been introduced as SM Rookies years ago, along with other SM rookies. Their debut has been long-anticipated by fans, given their unique visuals and talent that caught the attention of several music fans. In fact, their popularity in other countries such as in China is no joke, that they already have their solid fan bars/fanbase even before debut.

2. SM Trainee Yoo Jimin

Jimin, who caught the attention of fans after her appearance in Taemin's 'Want' MV and live performances, is allegedly a possible member of SM's new girl group as well. Her beauty already smitten K-pop fans, as well as her dancing skills captured netizens' hearts!

3. JYP Trainee Yokoi Rima

Recently, the JYP Trainee Yokoi Rima, a 2004-liner who participated in the entertainment's survival show 'Nizi Project,' gained attention from Korean netizens on an online Korean community due to her visuals. Fans noticed her uncanny resemblance with TWICE Tzuyu and ITZY's Lia. 

Though some think that she could also have a hard time adjusting in Korea due to her unique visuals that can create various opinions from Knetz, the overall impression to her is that she's stunning and charming.

4. Big Hit & CJ ENM's 'I-LAND' Trainee Kim Seonwoo

A trainee from Big Hit x CJ ENM's upcoming survival reality show, 'I-Land,' Yoonwon is already gathering interests from K-netizens due to his outstanding visuals, which is evident from his pre-debut pictures.

5. Park Sung Hoon 

Park Sung Hoon, an 'I-Land' trainee as well, is already famous before joining the show. According to reports, Sung Hoon, a 2002-liner, is a former figure skating athlete but later stopped playing after deciding to become a trainee of Big Hit to pursue his passion for music.

6. 'I-Land' Niki

A 14-year-old trainee, Niki, eventually captured the attention of K-pop enthusiasts, especially Shawols, fandom of the K-pop group SHINee, as they confirmed that Niki is an avid fan of the group. In fact, he also became a backup dancer of SHINee for their World Tour in 2017, and is a member of a group called SHINee kids, where he represented mini-Key!
