EXO Sehun to Have His Big Screen Debut as an Actor on "Pirates 2"
The member of the K-pop boy group EXO, Sehun, will finally be meeting the audience once again as actor Oh Sehun! This is after the confirmation that Sehun will be playing a role in the upcoming sequel of the movie, "Pirates."
On Jun 16, various movie officials announced that Sehun was confirmed to join Director's Kim Jung-hoon's upcoming film "The Pirates: Goblin's Flag," a sequel of the 2014's South Korean film with the same name starring Son Ye Jin and Kim Nam Gil.
According to an official, "Many actors have auditioned for the role. However, Oh Sehun's name was chosen on the casting line among actors of similar age who were considered as well, which could play perfectly the role of a pirate." Aside from being chosen, Sehun also showed satisfaction with his role.
In addition, the official also gives a hint on what character will be the idol-actor is going to play in the film. The official said, "Sehun will take the role of a handsome sculptor who is good at archery, and will be playing a major character in the pirate group in the movie."
Furthermore, Sehun will be working alongside the star-studded Korean actress and actors, including Kang Haneul, who was recently awarded as "Best New Actor." Th the same time, Sehun will be meeting Han Hyo Joo in the film, along Lee Kwang Soo, Kwon Sang Woo, and Chae Soo Bin, making the movie's fans and movie enthusiasts expect as to what kind of chemistry among the characters will they be giving to the audiences.
Meanwhile, "Pirates 2" is the sequel of Lee Suk Heon's movie, "The Pirates, which was nominated for several awarding ceremonies, including Daejong Film Awards, Blue Dragon, and BaekSang Fil Awards Ceremonies.
Upon the announcement, fans and netizens anticipation to the movie skyrocketed, as this is Actor's Sehun big-screen debut, two years after starring in a Web drama titled, "Dokgo Rewind." Expectations are high on what kind of strong impression actor Sehun will give at his first big-screen film.
It was noted that during his web drama, Sehun had been praised for acting skills, where he played the role of Kang Hyuk, who is a dropout student but is good at fighting. This time, he will be playing the role of a character who is good at archery; that's why Sehun is also reported to attend archery school and learn at his earnest.
Meanwhile, Sehun, the youngest member of EXO, will be added to the actor line up of the group, following D.O, Chanyeol, Suho, Kai, Lay, and Xiumin, who are also excelling in the field of acting. Currently, Chanyeol is also confirmed to star on an audio drama paired with Lee Se Young titled "Pit-A-Pat Pit-A-Pat," which will be dropped this June 18.
On the other hand, aside from their solo activities, Sehun is also preparing for a comeback along with Chanyeol through their sub-unit duo EXO-SC, wherein the target date is this upcoming July.
