It's not completely obvious, but IU was once an honorable high ranking South Korean law enforcement officer in the police force!

IU was awarded an honorary member since February 2013 and was promoted to a senior policeman as an anti-bullying representative in 2014, kudos to her hard work and effort.

She participated in numerous events and gatherings to try and stop bullying and harassment as well as advertise the 117 Victims of the Crime contact center. An honorary event of company advancement was held in her commemoration when she soared to top positions.

Life Safety Commissioner Seo Bum Soo made jokes at the time, "If she is appointed at least once a year, by the time she's 30, she'll be the chief executive! One sentence from IU has much more effect on Korean youth than on police chief speeches." 

IU ended up taking her responsibility very sincerely, thanking the Korean police for the prompt advancement and pledging to work much harder in the role.

For two years, she was labeled Senior Police Officer, until November 5, 2016. All through her period as a public servant, she had done so much good in society, increasing social relations and promotes social protection.

IU's endorsements

IU is one of South Korea's highest-earning celebrities, with endorsement deals contributing to a percentage of their profits. She has endorsed different products throughout her professional life, which varied from electronic devices to garments and beauty products.

Following straight seasons hit single launches and improved media appearances in 2010, her increasing popularity spurred with her first offers with Crown Confectionery's MyChew candy, Crown Bakery, and Y'sb brand of clothing.

Video games were amongst her first endorsement deals. While deemed rare for a female artist, since 2010, IU has been interested in video game promotions. She acted as a VJ on MBC Game's Star for You and a commentator throughout player introductions for Global StarCraft II League in 2010. She also served to boost the Global StarCraft II League in 2011 by operating at the final match.

She has been chosen to support the enormously multiplayer online role-playing game, Alicia: The Story of My Horse and I, in November 2010, for her "basic and innocent image" In addition to advertising campaigns from the game, IU also took part in its theme song.

IU was a spokeswoman and in-game model for the Aion: Chaos video game by NCsoft in 2012-13. She was also a member of the 2014 Dungeon Fighter Online promotional activities by Nexon. Soon after Real's launch in December 2010, IU has become the image of Samsung Anycall and Samsung Galaxy S II for Samsung Electronics, as well as the endorsing model for Unionbay Sportswear and Le Coq Sportif clothing companies.

She has featured in advertisements for the biggest South Korean wireless carrier SK Telecom, the Yogurt Bulgaris brand of Namyang Dairy, the petroleum and refining firm S-Oil, and the Homeplus supermarket chain.
