Sunmi Gives Savage Response to Breast Implant Surgery Allegations and Malicious Comments
"They are not that big anyway."
In the recent episode of 1TheK's "Look Me Up," Korean soloist Sunmi refuted the allegations of breast implant and endless plastic surgery rumors.
On June 29, the former Wonder Girls' member and K-pop solo artist appeared on 1TheK's (WonderK) "Look Me Up," which is released through their official YouTube channel.
In the episode, Sunmi took on the challenge of searching up her name on various online communities, including her profile and information about her, before looking at the responses of the internet users.
When she passed by her own profile page, the female idol admitted that they were "right" when her profile said she was 166 centimeters tall and 50 kilograms in body weight. She said, "I used to weigh 43 kilograms, but I gained about 50 kilograms."
As she digs deeper into her profile, Sunmi came across her viral video taken on the recent "Water Bomb Festival 2018," wherein she performed on stage.
She then opened up about the rumor that circulated after that even, claiming that she had a boob implant surgery.
"Since it's a festival where I play with water guns, I've shown bold costumes and volume," she said after reading, "After this time if you search my name, the keyword 'Sunmi Boob Job' pops up at the top."
Talking about this issue, Sunmi confidently refuted the rumor and said, "It's not like I can take an X-ray to show you," and savagely responded, "Honestly, they are not even that big though."
As the issue gets bigger, the idol clarified on the same day that she did not get go under the knife. However, just months after she denied the allegations, Sunmi got into another boob job rumor when she uploaded a photo attracting the fans' attention.
"My brother, who majored in photography, took them himself, and it's better than my comeback teaser. The number of likes is high," she said. "People always like it when you show a bit of your skin."
"Foreign fans who saw this picture posted messages saying 'You had chest surgery' and 'Explain' here,' and here I am explaining that I didn't get any surgery, and It's not that big," she added.
She explained that due to her body change (bodyweight) that fans are skeptical as they compared her photos during her weight gain. Sunmi's candid remarks appear to have responded head-on without avoiding them, as there have been constant malicious comments and rumors about her figure in the past.
In the meantime, Sunmi has been worried by many fans for her tall, skinny body, and has been criticized by haters for being "too skinny." In fact, Sunmi said in the past that she was hurt by the malicious comments that said, "It's gross because I'm too skinny," which caused many people to worry about her.
Sunmi then worked hard to increase her weight with steady exercise and diet, and this process was made public through MBC's "Omniscient Interfering View."
Meanwhile, the Korean singer released her new glam and fabulous MV for her latest single, "Pporappippam" on June 29, which is a song that tackles about her dream love, composed by her along producer FRANTS.
