EXO's Baekhyun has just made a record-breaking milestone for officially becoming a million-seller soloist!

Baekhyun has sold a total of 1,018,743 copies of his second mini-album "Delight" as of June 30, which was released on May 25. The singer has sold more than one million copies in a month and is the first soloist to surpass selling a million copies in 19 years.

The record was previously held by Kim Gun Mo in 2001 for his 7th album. This just proves Baekhyun's power!

In addition to this, Baekhyun became a million-seller soloist after 8 years in the industry, as he debuted as a member of EXO in 2012. 

This is not his first taste of one million album sales, though, because in 2018, EXO became "quintuple million-sellers," which means the group has sold over one million copies apiece for five different albums. This means the singer has experienced his album garner over one million sales six times!

This is the second time a singer has had a group album and a solo album reach over a million sales in the K-pop music industry, with the first solo artist Seo Taiji, who sold more than 1 million copies with his solo albums released in 1998 and 2000.

Baekhyun has also proved his global popularity by topping various music charts, setting the highest sales seen by a solo album in the history of Gaon Charts. He topped the iTunes Top Albums Charts in 69 countries around the world, was number 1 on the United World Chart, and number 1 on the Chinese music charts QQ Music, Kugou Music, and Couwa Music Digital Album Sales Chart. He is also the first Korean singer in QQ music this year to earn a Triple Platinum status.

Baekhyun debuted with EXO in 2012 as a member of EXO-K and as the group's main vocalist. EXO debuted initially with 12 members, divided into two sub-groups. There was EXO-K, which sang in Korean and promoted in South Korea, and EXO-M, which sang in Mandarin and promoted in China. 

EXO has been ranked among the top five most influential celebrities by Forbes Korea Power Celebrity from 2014 to 2018. In 2017, they were the recipient of the Prime Minister's Commendation.

 In 2018, the Korean government revered the group as "The Nation's Pick," and has been the face of Korean tourism ever since. In the same year, they performed at the Pyeongchang Olympics and have been invited to political gatherings and in the Blue House as K-pop representatives. 

EXO broke the 12-year physical drought in Korea when their debut album "XOXO" and its repack combined sold one million copies.  

Now promoting as a nonet, EXO is dubbed as one of the world's biggest boy bands, while the media labels them as the "Kings of K-pop."
