These 10 Girl Group Songs Have The Worst Line Distributions

Line distributions tend to vary between songs and though most groups have their lines divided equally, some songs are guilty of giving certain members more like than others. A little unevenness is to be expected, but these line distributions have been called unfair by numerous fans, with many saying that some lines could be given to members with less to sing. Of course, it's not the member's fault, as most of the time it is out of their hands on who gets what line.

Check out the 10 girl group songs with the worst line distributions.

1. ITZY's "It'z Summer"

The song "It'z Summer" was released as a b-side in 2019 to the main title song "ICY", the group's first comeback. Yeji got 35% of the lines, while Lia got only 11.5%. People comment that as a main vocal, Lia could have gotten more of the lyrics. Also, with the song having a large chunk of English lyrics, Lia could have gotten more of the song as the group's representative English speaker.

Ryujin got 21.9%, Chaeryeong got 20%, and Yuna got 11.7%.

2. LOONA's "Hi High"

"Hi High" is LOONA's debut track as a whole group. Members of LOONA previously made their sub-unit and solo debuts prior to debuting as a collective group. In the song, center and face of the group Heejin got 21.4% of the song while ViVi got only 1.1%. She got a few words and was usually a backing vocal in the song. People believe that ViVi has proven herself as a capable vocalist in her solo debut and should have gotten more lines.

Jinsoul got 13.3%, Yves got 11.7%, Chu got 11.5%, Choerry got 10.9%, Kim Lip got 10.6%, Olivia Hye got 8.9%, Gowon got 3.7%, Yeojin got 3.6%, Heeseul got 1.8%, and Hyunjin got 1.5%.

3. BLACKPINK's "Forever Young"

Main rapper and lead vocalist 34.3% of the song while lead vocalist only got 10.4% of the song. As Jennie got the main rap portion of the song, people believe some of Jennie's vocal lines could have been given to Jisoo to even out the distribution.

Lisa got 29.1% and Rosé got 26.2%.

4. (G)I-DLE's "Hann (Alone)"

Main rapper and leader Soyeon got 29% of the song while sub vocalist Shuhua got 5.9%. Shuhua notably only got one section before the first chorus and did not sing any further in the song. She did, however, get a mini dance break in the song before the last chorus. This was said to be done to give Shuhua a chance to shine more since she got such little lines. Shuhua is the only member to get less than 10% of the lines.

Soojin got 19.5%, Miyeon got 18.5%, Yuqi got 13.6%, and Minnie got 13.5%.

5. Red Velvet's "One of These Nights"

As one of Red Velvet's more slower, sensual, velvet-side songs, it's obvious that Wendy would get most lines. But it was surprising that she got so much - 42% of the whole song. Maknae Yeri only got 7%. Many were shocked at the distribution, with some Reveluvs saying Yeri's voice would have suited the song since her tone is softer and lighter than the other vocalists and could have added a more interesting touch to the song.

Seulgi got 24%, Joy got 19%, and Irene fot 8%.

6. MOMOLAND's "Freeze"

Maknae, center, and face of the group Nancy got 19% of the song, while Daisy got 5.8%. All the main vocalist would get above 10%, while the rappers, lead vocals, and dancers would get less than that. People believe the lines could have been spread easier, and although Daisy is the main rapper, she could have gotten some vocal lines to make it more fair.

Taeha got 18.3%, Ahin fot 15.2%, Jane got 11.2%, Yeonwoo got 8.5%, Nayun got 8%, JooE got 7.6%, and Hyebin got 6.5%. Yeonwoo and Taeha have since left the group, while Daisy is on a hiatus, according to MLD Entertainment.

7. TWICE's "I'm Gonna Be A Star"

Nayeon got a whopping 35.4% of the song, while Momo got 4%. It should be noted, however, that Nayeon's only line is the words "I'm Gonna Be A Star", and the words are repeated constantly throughout the song. Perhaps if they lessened how often the phrase was said, the line distribution would be fairer.

Chaeyoung got 19.6%, Jeongyeon got 10.2%, Dahyun got 8.5%, Tzuyu got 6.9%, Jihyo got 5.2%, Mina got 5.2%, and Sana got 4.8%.

8. EVERGLOW's "No Lie"

"No Lie" was released as a b-side to EVERGLOW's 2020 comeback "DUN DUN". During the song, Mia got over half of the song, snatching 59.6% of the lines. Onda and Yiren tied for the least amount of lines, only getting 1.8%. People have called out EVERGLOW's bad line distribution, calling them "Mia and Friends" for how badly the lines are divided.

Sihyeon got 25.3% of the lines, Aisha got 6.5%, and E:U got 5%.

9. GFRIEND's "Rough"

Despite being the song to give GFRIEND's breakthrough and is one of the group's signature songs, it has been scrutinized for having an unfair line distribution. Yuju, the main vocalist, got 37.4%, and Sowon got 3.4%. 3 of the 5 members got less than 10%.

Eunha got 27.9%, SinB got 14.9%, Umji 9.8%, and Yerin got 6.3%.

10. IZ*ONE's "Rumor"

The song was originally sang on Produce 48 during their original song stages, and was sang by contestants Chowon, Sihyeon, Sian, Sae, and Eunbi. When IZ*ONE debuted, they recorded their own version of the song with all 12 members. Yena got 17.2% of the song, while Nako only got 2.7%. The song was originally made to be sang by five people, so the divisionn of lines must have been difficult for 12 people.

Eunbi got 17%, Yuri got 11%, Minju got 9.5%, Chaewon got 9.2%, Chaeyeon got 8.7%, Yujin got 6.6%, Hyewon got 6.4%, Hitomi got 4.2%, Sakura got 3.9%, and Wonyoung got 3.7%.

What other songs do you think are notorious for having unfair line distributions?
