After some digging, fans discovered that some idols who are currently promoting actually from wealthy families! From designer clothing to expensive schooling, here are five idols who were born into rich lifestyles.
1. ITZY's Lia
Lia attended the prestigious North London Collegiate School in Jeju, which is known as one of South Korea's most expensive schools. One years tuition and accommodation fees are a whopping 60 million Korean won or approximately $50,000 USD. It's well-known that the students of celebrities and successful businessmen attend North London Collegiate School. She also spent some time studying in London and, before pursuing a career in K-Pop, debated if she should go to college in America or the United Kingdom. Even before her debut, she was spotted with luxury bags and was already living the jet-setter lifestyle with her parents.
2. GOT7's Mark
Mark was born in Los Angeles and is of Taiwanese descent. He is the son of a retired businessman. His family so so rich, he once took a plane from Thailand to Switzerland. The reason? He wanted to snowboard! The GOT7 members have also spoken up about how luxurious Mark's life is, mentioning that his family's house is huge and that they have spacious yard with a pool. When Mark travels alone, he always flies first class and occupies the first cabin of a commercial plane if he isn't riding his family jet. He is also seen driving luxury SUVs if he chooses to drive himself.
3. ITZY's Chaeryeong and IZ*ONE's Chaeyoung
Okay, these are technically two idols, but as they are sisters, they are put together. Though the two have not spoken deeply on what their family does for a living, fans believe the two come from wealthy backgrounds after Chaeyeon released videos of them at their home for the reality show "Iz*One Chu". The videos showed glimpses of her living room and hallways and how it was adorned with expensive furniture, chandeliers, and marble floor. Chaeryeong was also seen carrying a Gucci bag prior to her debut. Fans deduce that the two are from upper class families, are most middle-class Koreans usually just have simple apartments.
4. BLACKPINK's Jennie
When fans figured out Jennie was born in Cheongdam, one of South Korea's most expensive neighborhoods, they just knew she came from money. Her father is a director of a hospital and her mother is rumored (though not confirmed) to be a shareholder and director at CJ ENM, a famous entertainment group. During her formative years, her family could afford to send her to New Zealand to study and her mom even wanted her to live and study in Florida before Jennie decided to pursue music. Jennie has also been seen in her family's Porsche Cayenne pre-debut and was spotted rocking Chanel, leading her to become a brand ambassador for them when she made her name in the K-Pop industry.
