BLACKPINK's "How You Like That" Sets New Record as The Highest Ranking Song by a K-Pop Girl Group on The Canadian Sales Chart

BLACKPINK recently came back with their new single, "How You Like That," their first comeback in a year and two months. Immediately after its release, fans rushed to stream the music video and on various music streaming platforms. The song was an instant success, and the track hit number one in numerous countries. In Canada, the track not only ranked on the charts with other successful pop artists, but it also broke a record!

"How You Like That" first hit the charts at #7 on the Canadian Digital Song chart, Canada's Billboard ranking that lists the best-selling singles in the country. BLACKPINK didn't just rank high on their debut on the charts. They actually set a record as the highest-charting song by a South Korean girl group.

Surprisingly enough, the last group that had that record was... BLACKPINK!

In 2018, they became the first girl group from Asia to break into the Canadian Digital Song Sales chart when they released their collaboration with Dua Lipa, "Kiss and Make Up." The single peaked at #10 on the charts. At the time, it not only broke records for BLACKPINK but Dua Lipa as well.

They had another hit land on the charts a few weeks ago, this time for their collaboration and joint promotional single with superstar Lady Gaga, "Sour Candy." While it topped the charts in numerous countries, it sadly did not make the top 10 in Canada. "Sour Candy" peaked at #22 on the Canadian Digital Song Sales chart.

The group BLACKPINK debuted in 2016 under YG Entertainment with "BOOMBAYAH," which also happens to be their first number-one hit. BLACKPINK consists of four members: Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa. They are the highest-charting female K-Pop band on the Billboard 100 and Billboard 200 with their hit 2019 track "Kill This Love."

BLACKPINK is the first and only K-Pop group to enter the Billboard "Emerging Artists" chart and is the first female K-pop group to have four no. 1 singles on the Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart. The quartet is also the most subscribed music group on YouTube and the most-followed female group on Spotify.

The group released "How You Like That" on June 26, Friday, their first comeback in a year and two months. It is notably the first song released from BLACKPINK's forthcoming debut album set for release in September.
