Introducing PURPLE K!SS: MAMAMOO's New Juniors + Members' Profiles and Facts You Need to Know!
On July 19, RBW announced the upcoming debut of their new girl group, PURPLE K!SS. The group will be debuting in the latter half of 2020 and is already attracting attention due to their dance skills, vocal skills, and for being RBW's first girl group since MAMAMOO!
RBW announced PURPLE K!SS through a short video showcasing the group logo and photos of each member. The logo shows two intertwined hearts coming together to form a lips. Living up to its name, the logo is purple. No concept has been announced, but it has been noted that MAMAMOO does not have a set concept, so it is likely PURPLE K!SS won't have one either. However, from the photos released by the company, it seems that the girls are taking a more mature approach than most rookie groups.
The girls have already been active on social media prior to the announcement of the group. They had a YouTube page called "365 Practice", in which they would share dance cover videos, song cover videos, and play games to introduce themselves to their fans. The channel has over 150,000 subscribers, and some of their more popular covers include MAMAMOO's "gogobebe," Hwa Sa's "Maria," Red Velvet's "Psycho," and ONEWE's "End of Spring." The channel name has since been changed to "PURPLE KISS" following the announcement of their upcoming debut.
The group has seven members: Jieun, Goeun, Doxie, Ireh, Yuki, Chaein, and Swan.

JIEUN
Jieun, whose full name is Park Jieun, was born on September 4, 1997, and is currently 22 years old. Some people may recognize her for her appearance on "Produce 48". On the show, she ranked #80th place. She has been training for 6-7 years. Fans speculate she'll be the group's lead vocalist and rapper.
Jieun's skills include speaking Japanese, playing the guitar, and voice impressions. Her favorite food is pizza, and she adores puppies!
GOEUN
Goeun, whose full name is Na Goeun, was born on September 3, 1999, and is currently 20 years old, turning 21 years old later this year. Like Jieun, many may recognize her for her appearance on "Produce 48," where she ranked #29th place. After showcasing her vocal prowess on the show, many speculate that she'll be the group's main vocalist. Her role model is Girls' Generation's Taeyeon, and some have even said they resemble one another.
Goeun is another member who is good at voice impressions. She loves hip-hop and enjoys eating homemade food, watching action movies alone, and watching cooking videos.
DOXIE
Doxie, whose real name is Jang Eunseong, was born on February 11, 2000, and is currently 20 years old. Doxie previously participated in "MIXNINE," where she ranked #78th place. It's being speculated that she'll be the group's main rapper, main dancer, and vocalist. Her favorite groups are GOT7 and Wonder Girls. She has a non-identical twin sister, and one of her favorite hobbies is drawing.
IREH
Ireh, whose real name is Cho Seoyoung, was born on April 30, 2002, and is currently 18 years old. Ireh was a former YG Entertainment trainee before moving over to RBW. Fans think she'll be the group's main dancer and vocalist.
Ireh thinks her charming point is her weird expressions. She is shy around strangers and has said she doesn't believe in aliens. Her current favorite song is Zico's "Any Song."
YUKI
Yuki, whose real name is Mori Koyuki, was born on November 9, 2002, and is currently 17 years and will be turning 18 years old later this year. She is the group's only non-Korean member and hails from Japan. She is a former JYP Entertainment trainee. Fans think she will be the group's lead dancer, vocalist, and rapper.
Yuki is a fan of Michael Jackson and PENTAGON. In her spare time, she likes to shop by herself.
CHAEIN
Chaein, whose real name is Lee Chaeyoung, was born on December 15, 2002, and is currently 17 years old. In few months, she will be turning 18 years old. Chaein was a former YG Entertainment trainee and previously appeared on "Kpop Star" alongside ITZY's Chaeryeong and IZ*ONE's Chaeyeon. She also appeared on "Star King." She is speculated to be the group's lead vocalist and lead dancer.
Chaein came from a family that was already into entertainment: her mother is a cellist, her father is a director, and her sister is a model. She has two dogs, Willy and Bella. In her spare time, she likes to draw.
SWAN
Swan, whose real name is Park Soojin, was born on July 11, 2003, and is currently 17 years old. Swan is the maknae of the group, and fans believe she will be the group's second main vocalist. She is a PURPLE K!SS's representative English speaker.
She was the first member to join RBW. Notably, she sang the guide demo version of Chungha's hit song "Snapping".
