Superstar global boy group BTS officially has five Guinness World Records under their belt!

Guinness World Records announced on its website on July 22, Wednesday, that BTS's live concert "BANG BANG CON: The Live" had broken the record of "Live Streaming Concert with the Most Views." Over 756,000 fans from over 100 countries had tuned in to the live streamed concert. It is the largest paid online concert in the world and was praised for opening up avenues for artists to perform for their fans despite the pandemic.

Besides that record, they also hold the title of the first K-Pop act to reach number one on the US album chart, best selling album (South Korea), and most Twitter engagements.

BTS also broken the record for the most used hashtag in 24 hours back in March 2019. ARMYs voted for BTS and their fanclub with the hashtag "#TwitterBestFandom". The hashtag saw 60,055,339 tweets.

The group also broke the record for fastest time to reach one million followers on Tik Tok. Upon the opening of BTS's official Tik Tok account, it only took the boys three hours and 31 minutes to reach seven digits worth of followers.

BTS also set new records with their fourth full-length Japanese album "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ THE JOURNEY ~", which was released in July 15. The album has sold 564,298 copies and topped the Oricon's Weekly Album Chart for July 13 and July 19. From all the albums released in Japan this year, BTS saw the highest ever sales for a foreign boy group.

Congratulations, BTS!

BTS debuted in 2013 and are known for self-producing and co-writing most of their music. They've touched the hearts of their fans with their lyrics, which usually talk about personal and social commentaries, mental illness, adolescent issues, loving and being oneself.

With "Wings" being BTS's first album to sell one million copies in Korea, the septet was able to bring their music to the West, leading the Hallyu wave into the US and breaking countless records. They are the first Korean group to receive certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. 

BTS is also the first Korean act to top the Billboard 200 with "Love Yourself: Tear" and has hit the top of the US charts plenty of times times. They are the fastest group since the Beatles to earn four No.1 albums in less than two years.

Furthermore, BTS is the best-selling artist in Korean history and was the second best-selling artist in 2018. Media outlets have dubbed then as the "Princes of Pop" and were in Time's 100 most influential people in the world list last year.

They are the youngest ever recipients of the Order of Cultural Merit from the President of South Korea.

The group consists of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
