ABOUT TWICE

TWICE, a nine-member group under JYP Entertainment. The group was formed through the survival show "SIXTEEN," organized by the label and Mnet, in which sixteen contestants would compete to debut in a seven-member idol group. The seven members are Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, and Chaeyoung. In a twist of events, two additional members were selected to join the group at the end of the show, making them nine members instead of seven. The included members are Momo, who was chosen for her dancing, and Tzuyu, who was the audience favorite throughout the show.

In 2016, TWICE achieved breakthrough success with their first comeback "Cheer Up." The song peaked at number one on the Gaon Digital Chart and was best performing single of 2016. Their success continued to rise with their next comeback, "TT," which topped the Gaon Charts for four consecutive weeks. In 2019, they became the best-selling Korean girl group of all time. In 2020, they signed with Republic Records for their American promotions.

TWICE is also active in the Japanese music scene, debuting in Japan back in June 2017 under Warner Music Japan. Their Japanese debut album, "#TWICE," peaked at number 2 on the Oricon Albums Chart, breaking the record for highest first-week album sales by a K-Pop artist in Japan in the past two years. Their Japanese single "One More Time" scored them a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). TWICE ranked third in the top artist category for Billboard Japan's Year-End Rankings in 2017.
