BLACKPINK's Jennie has signed a deal to become part of the talent management division of Alta Music Group, a new full-service music company founded by former Spotify global head of music Jeremy Erlich.

Based in Los Angeles, Alta Music Group offers services for recorded music, music publishing, and artist management under one roof. Jennie's decision to join the company's management division on July 24 follows her debut solo album, Ruby, which was released through Columbia Records in March.

Erlich announced Alta Music Group nearly nine months after separating from Spotify, where he served first as vice president and head of music strategy before being promoted to global head of music. Before his tenure at Spotify, Erlich spent eight years between Universal Music Group and Interscope Geffen A&M, holding roles in corporate development, strategy, and business affairs.

"Throughout my career, I've focused on the best way to service artists around the world that would create an environment that sets them up for long-term, global success. With Alta, we have the opportunity to do just that — a best-in-class team focused solely on supporting our artists and the music they create. Everything else does not matter," Erlich said.

Alta has already secured distribution services through Sony's independent distribution arm, The Orchard, and entered a co-development and promotion partnership with THEBLACKLABEL, founded by producer Teddy Park, known for his work with BLACKPINK and other K-pop acts. These strategic alliances aim to leverage global networks and promotional expertise to amplify Alta's artists on an international scale.

Jennie joins Alta's roster in collaboration with her own label, OddAtelier, marking a co-management arrangement that allows her to benefit from Alta's dedicated team while retaining her existing support structure. As a member of BLACKPINK, Jennie has helped the group become one of the world's best-selling girl groups, and her solo career has further solidified her standing as a global pop icon.

Alta's leadership team reflects Erlich's artist-first philosophy, featuring industry veterans such as Nima Khalilian (formerly head of international marketing and strategy at Stem and Interscope), Parker Ulry (Interscope, Warner), Drake Hofer, Elise Eriksen, Gillian Taugher, and Michael Seltzer (Universal Music Group). Nima Khalilian said, "ALTA is about putting artists first and helping them navigate an ever-evolving industry with a clear strategy."

By signing a high-profile artist like Jennie, Alta Music Group underscores its ambition to become a premier destination for top-tier talent seeking hands-on management and global support. With Erlich's extensive background in both artist relations and corporate strategy, Alta is positioned to challenge traditional management models and foster long-term artist development in today's rapidly changing music landscape.
