In 2019, during BLACKPINK's performance in Coachella, Lisa went viral with people who aren't K-Pop fans as the "girl with the bangs", with people loving her charisma and stage presence.
Following Lisa's appearance as a dance mentor on the iQiyi survival show "Youth With You", Lisa's popularity in China skyrocketed. Chinese youths fell in love with the idol for her cute personality but being a strict and stern mentor. She became so famous that clothes she would wear would sell out in China immediately.
But another thing about Lisa went viral - her bangs! It was so popular in China that a trainee in the show had even asked Lisa how she keeps her bangs still while she dances. Lisa revealed that she keeps it still by asking her stylist to spray her bangs down.
Chinese girls wanted to rock the same long, wavy hair and bangs that the Thai idol did during her appearance on the show. Hangzhou, China based hairstylist Tony decided to fulfill their wishes. He streamed himself giving someone Lisa's iconic look, and the stream had garnered thousands of viewers.
When he showed the finished hairstyle beside a photo of Lisa, fans were shocked to see that it was nearly identical After seeing how well Tony did the girl's hair, they rushed to Tony's salon to get the look.
In a video shared by Tony, he proved how popular the Lisa bangs were in his salon. He asked three women what look they came in for, and all three of them had responded that they are here to cop Lisa's iconic bangs!
The style itself is not new - in fact, old school Chinese manhua's had rocked the hairstyle. However, due to Lisa's immense popularity, the style is coming back! During the video, Tony explained that ninety percent of women who visit his salon come to get the Lisa bangs! And he truly delivers - no matter if the girl's hair is long or short, he can provide them the Lisa bangs they want!
