f(x) Krystal Will Be Leaving SM Entertainment

On August 18, Tuesday, it has been announced that f(x) member Krystal will be leaving SM Entertainment.

In an exclusive report from Ilgan Sports, they say that she has already left SM Entertainment, which she has been signed to for over a decade. She is reportedly in contact with several famous acting agencies who have sent her many love calls after hearing she has departed from the company. She had met with some companies but has yet to decide which agency to sign with.

She is looking for an agency that will allow her to focus on her acting, but also will support her with her music career and will allow her to release a solo album when she wants to.

SM Entertainment had not responded to the news.

Krystal Jung was first scouted by when she was five years old by SM Entertainment, which snagged her a cameo appearance in Shinhwa's music video for "Wedding March". Though she was offered the opportunity to be a trainee then and there (along with her sister Jessica), her parents turned down the offer, saying Krystal was too young. Her sister Jessica was the first to sign with the label.

In 2006, Krystal was finally allowed by her parents to join the agency. She trained under SM Entertainment for three years and debuted with f(x) is 2009  as the group's lead vocalist. In Mach 2010, she participated in a series of music videos for the "Melody Project", subsequent releasing a solo single called "Melody".

In 2010, Krystal debuted as an actress with a minor role in the sitcom "More Charming by the Day", which earned her the "Newcomer Comedy Award" at the 2010 MBC Entertainment Awards. She rose to fame with her acting in 2013, when she starred in the SBS teen drama "The Heirs".

In 2014, she joined the ballad group SM The Ballad, alongside other SM Entertainment artists. That same year, she filmed a reality show with her sister, "Jessica & Krystal", which showcased the two and their sisterly bond.

That same year, Krystal snagged her first lead role in the SBS drama "My Lovely Girl", which earned her the "Most Popular Actress" award in the Baeksang Arts Award. She was praised for taking on such a difficult character with determination. She acted in the Chinese movie "Unexpected Love" in 2015, marking her film debut as an actress.

Krystal is known for her work as a member of f(x), as well as for dramas "The Heirs", "My Lovely Girl", "Prison Playbook", "The Bridge of Habaek", and "Player".
