The first half of 2020 is over, so Gaon Digital Charts revealed the songs that skyrocketed to fame from January to today.

Despite the pandemic that hit South Korea, K-pop has massively produced some of the greatest hits that claimed popularity worldwode. While YouTube bases a content's popularity through likes and views, Gaon measurs and ranks 10 of the most popular K-pop songs through digital streams.

10. BTS's "ON"

BTS released one of their record-breaking hits, "ON" on February 21. As o press time, it has 8.34 million streams and counting! BTS has been on top of ranks among groups.

9. Apink's "Dumhdurum"

At number 9, the veteran girl group Apink is still consistently taking a notch higher in terms of making a successful comeback. "Dumhdurum" was released on April 13 and is currently streamed by over 8.46 million.

8. Red Velvet's "Psycho"

Red Velvet's track, "Psycho," won as the "Music of the Year" at the recent Soribada Music Awards 2020. No wonder why it landed on Gaon's 8th spot among the most popular K-pop songs for this year so far. It has a total of 10.15 million streams.

7. BTS ft. Halsey's "Boy with Luv"

Another BTS track is under Gaon's top 10! "Boy with Luv" that was released over a year ago, but is still receiving massive streams, totaling to 10.54 million.

6. Red Velvet's Irene & Seulgi's "Monster"

Red Velvet's first ever sub-unit, composed of Irene and Seulgi, ranks number 6 on Gaon for this 2020's most popular K-pop songsso far. It has a total of 11.97 million streams since its released last July 6.

5. TWICE's "MORE & MORE"

TWICE is on number 5 with "MORE & MORE." Since the summer song's launch on June 1, it accumulated 12.23 streams on Gaon Digital Charts.

4. (G)I-DLE's "Dumdi Dumdi"

(G)I-DLE's "Dumdi Dumdi" enters the 4th spot, according to Gaon's streaming count, totaling to 13.62 million since its release on August 3.

3. Oh My Girl's "Nonstop"

Oh My Girl's upbeat track, "Nonstop", is gaining so much popularity on Gaon, reaching 18.19 million streams so far. It was released on April 17, and evidently, a lot still love it.

2. Oh My Girl's "Dolphin"

Another famous K-pop song on Gaon for 2020 is another track from Oh My Girl. "Dolphin" reached 20.53 million streams so far after its release on April 27.

1. BLACKPINK's "How You Like That"

BLACKPINK's pre-release single is so far the most popular K-pop song, according to Gaon Digital Charts. It has a total of 30 million streams which is leaving behing Oh My Girl's "Dolphin" with 10 million counts. It is also YouTube's record breaking Music Video since its debut on June 26.

Still, the second half of 2020 is not yet done so changes may still happen on Gaon Digital Charts' Top 10 most popular K-pop songs for this year.
