Kim Yohan Reveals His First Impression of Jessi
On August 26, former X1 member Kim Yohan appeared on MBC's "Radio Star." There, he spoke about how he first met Jessi and his impression of her. He appeared on the episode alongside HyunA, Jang Yong Nam, and Shin So Yool.
During the episode, the host asked Kim Yohan to share a story about a time where he had become so shocked that he froze during a variety show.
Kim Yohan revealed it was when he first met Kim Yohan during a music program. "I had the chance to appear on a music show with Jessi and the trot singer Song Ga In. It was my first time meeting them, and you know, they both have such a powerful impression."
He revealed that the moment Jessi came in, he was frozen in shock. "Jessi noona came in, and it was the first I've ever seen her in real life. And when she came in, she was cursing, so I was really shocked that I just froze."
He went on to say that he got closer to Jessi soon after, and realized she was not as scary as she seems. "When we became close, I realized she has a soft-heart and is very kind to me. She also has a lot of affection and sometimes acts subtly cute."
When he heard that the two singers were close, the host asked how the two interact now. Kim Yo Han revealed that he too shows off his cute side, saying, "I was told I often act cute, but I don't think I do." The hosts then asked to show off his cuteness. "It's not cuteness," said Kim Yohan. "I just go 'aww noona!'"
The host then asked how Jessi reacts when he acts adorably. With how handsome Kim Yohan is, everyone expected Jessi to melt over the aegyo. However, Kim Yohan did an impersonation of Jessi, and it appears she's not melting! According to Kim Yohan, she would say, "Kim Yohan! Don't act like a baby!" She really is a strong noona!
During the episode Kim Yohan showed off his amazing dance skills, showing off his choreography to "Life is Food", the collaboration song he made with Jessi and Song Ga In. Everyone on the show praised the idol for his dance skills and how he combined taekwondo to his dance.

Kim Yohan was first introduced to the public in May 2019 as a contestant on Mnet's "Produce X 101" as an OUI Entertainment trainee. Throughout the show, he never dropped from the top 5 and ended up bagging first place in the finale, earning the center position in the project boy group X1. He debuted with the group in August 2019 but disbanded earlier than planned in January 2020 due to the Mnet vote-rigging scandal.
Before his appearance on the show, Kim Yohan was a national taekwondo athlete and is a two-time champion at the National Youth Sports Festival.
In June 2020, OUI Entertainment announced they would be debuting a new boy group, which was tentatively named "OUIBOYZ." In July, the company announced the group's name would be "WEi," and Kim Yohan was confirmed to be a member.
In August 2020, Kim Yohan debuted as a soloist with the digital single "No More," produced by Zion.T.
