7 K-Pop Songs With Unlikely Western Feature Artists

It is no surprise that K-Pop has now officially dominated the music scene not only in Asia but worldwide. People from all over the world feel connected by music in a language that they don't even know. However, the feelings conveyed through these songs are just as easily communicated through the power of music, which transcends any language barrier whatsoever, no matter how big.

Having become a part of the mainstream of music, K-Pop artists are being acknowledged internationally by musical authorities, charts, and award shows. It was this week that BTS ranked number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and received four awards from the VMAs. As such, some innumerable international artists want to be part of this ever-growing saga of K-Pop.

The most recent collaborations were BLACKPINK, and Selena Gomez was coming together for "Ice Cream." One of the most played collaboration is that of BTS with Steve Aoki for "Mic Drop." Besides these well-known ones, some unlikely collaborations have rocked the K-Pop world.

1. SUPER JUNIOR "LO SIENTO" FT. LESLIE GRACE


Lo Siento was the first K-Pop song to chart on the Billboard Latin Digital Song Sales chart and was very popularly loved by fans worldwide. It is a beautiful Latin pop crossover with Korean pop with mostly Korean lyrics. The Spanish portion gave a unique twist to the song that showed a blend of cultures.

2. PSY "HANGOVER" FT. SNOOP DOG


Yes, you read that right. The two biggest and most notorious superstars of the world did collaborate for this track that features both of their peculiar styles. The music video is funny to watch, and most of its value lies in the mere fact of its existence.

3. K/DA "POP STARS" FT. MADISON BEER, (G)I-DLE, JAIRA BURNS


K/DA is a virtual band made for the game League of Legends. For fans of the game, this game is already really well known, and the same goes for fans of the artists who feature in this track as well as the band itself. This collaboration has helped bring the game to the K-Pop audience and the K-Pop audience to the game. All in all, it's a win-win.

4. J-HOPE "CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP" FT. BECKY G


Perhaps the most significant and most-watched collaboration of 2019 was that of BTS J-Hope and rapper/singer/songwriter Becky G. The two developed a close friendship stemming for their shared and equal love for dance and music, which is reflected in the music video from how comfortable they are around each other. As for the song, do we even need to hype it up?

5. MONSTA X "WHO DO YOU LOVE" FT. FRENCH MONTANA


This song feels like a classic boy band song with a catchy hook and a retro R&B style. MONSTA X does not sacrifice on their unique music while also creating their first English language single. The group's rappers take the wheel for the vocals while French Montana compensates for the Hip-Hop aspect. This track was loved by Monbebes all over the world.

6. NCT DREAM "DON'T NEED YOUR LOVE" FT. HRVY


Another collaboration that led to a beautiful friendship between young boys, this single portrays the talents and unique charms of all the NCT Dream members as well as those of HRVY, and all of it blends seamlessly to create an excellent track that was received with much applause worldwide.

7. JACKSON WANG "TITANIC" FT. RICH BRIAN


The final track on the list is a super hyped hip-hop track meshed with Jackson's husky voice and Rich Brian's unmatched rapping. A bonus is the fact that the music video features an incredible dance crew with Jackson matching their steps just as well. The vibe here is immaculate.
