Woollim Entertainment released a short statement on the matter as they confirmed to numerous media outlets about their new boy group, saying, "We have finalized the plans to debut a new boy group that will include Cha Junho in late October. We have also recently finished filing for the trademark right to the group's name."

The agency did not provide further details, however, saying, "We will announce more details at a later time." With this, the number of members, the group name, concept, and exact debut date have yet to be revealed to the public.

Cha Junho's new boy group will be Woollim Entertainment's first boy group in three years. Back in August 2017, the company debuted Golden Childen.

Some people have speculated that the other Woollim Entertainment trainees who competed on "Produce X 101" could possibly debut alongside Cha Junho. The trainee team, who are currently known as W Project 4, are composed of Kim Minseo, Lee Sungjun, Kim Donghyun, Lee Hyeop, and Joo Changuk. Out of the trainees, only Lee Sungjun had not competed on the survival show.

ABOUT CHA JUNHO

Cha Junho was first introduced as a Woollim Entertainment trainee in Mnet's survival show, "Produce X 101". He had trained for a year and three months prior to appearing on the show. Consistently ranking high, Cha Junho ended up winning 9th place at the show's finale, earning him a spot in the project group X1. He won 9th place with 756,939 votes.

X1 debuted in August 2019 with the song "Flash" from the first album "Emergency: Quantum Leap". During his time with the group, he was their vocalist and visual. During his time on the show, Junho's visuals were often compared to INFINITE's L.

In late 2019, Mnet was exposed for rigging the votes of all the "Produce" seasons. When news broke out, the group was put on a hiatus as investigations ensued. Though it was made clear that the trainees had no knowledge of the votes being rigged, many netizens had called for X1's, as well as "Produce 48" project group IZ*ONE's, disbandment, saying that they were formed unfairly.

In January 2020, after discussions between the member's respective agencies and Swings Entertainment, it was announced that X1 had disbanded.

Currently, Cha Junho is preparing for his debut with Woollim Entertainment's new boy group, which is set to debut in October. As of now, it is unknown what his position will be in the group, though it can be assumed he will be the vocalist and visual, like how he was in X1.

He has also been active as a model. Cha Junho is also studying as a vocal major and is classmates with "Produce 48" contestant Han Chowon and TXT's Taehyun.

Cha Junho was born in 2002 and is currently 18-years-old. During his time on the show, Junho was know as a trainee who was quite and reserved upon first encounter, but would warm up to people once he got to know them. Do you want to see more or Cha Junho?
