6 Gorgeous Makeup Looks That K-Pop Idols Served
An essential component of K-Pop is concepts, and K-Pop can get creative and innovative with these concepts - starting from horror to sci-fi to food-related concepts, K-Pop has it all. To deliver these concepts, some of the most important elements are performance and music, of course, but two even more essential parts are dress and makeup. The way an idol's costume is and how their makeup is done can do a lot to deliver the concept perfectly and in full essence to the audience. Here are some of the gorgeous makeup looks that idols have ever worn that will go down in history.
1. VIXX - ON AND ON
VIXX takes a detour from their boy next door image in this darker music video and concept for "ON AND ON." The intense black eye shadow and coloured contact lenses added an edge to their look which was never seen before. The music and stage performance as well as the energy of the song only added to the powerful image they were going for.
2. HYUNA - FLOWER SHOWER
A complete 180 from the previous look, HyunA went for lighter eyeshadow but was still intense and striking. Her big beautiful eyes were lined with pink glitter on the edges, peach on the lids and light eye liner coupled with wispy lashes and red lips. The asymmetrical rhinestones placed on the apples of her cheeks add just the perfect touch for a concept like "Flower Shower." She looks like a Spring goddess indeed.

3. MONSTA X MINHYUK - BEAUTIFUL
Everyone in this music video for Monsta X's Beautiful had gorgeous makeup looks assigned to each of them. However, Minhyuk deserves a special mention for his glitter laden face. He quite literally out-shined everyone.
4. SEVENTEEN - FEAR
Every single member of SEVENTEEN was given different makeup looks for the music video of Fear. Joshua had a red waterline, Wonwoo was glossed out, D.K had smoky eyes, The8 was working with a monochromatic maroon moment, Jeonghan had iconic red lipstick smeared over his upper lip, S.Coups had purple lids, and Hoshi had a floral wrapped arm. This one is one for the K-Pop history books.

5. BLACKPINK - HOW YOU LIKE THAT
Blackpink's makeup for their music video for How You Like That featured some subtler but just as impactful makeup looks. Bedazzlement was a primary focus, and almost all the members had jewels incorporated in their makeup, especially Jennie. She had blue crystals in the corner of her eyes, a crystal teardrop, Jisoo had to define dots around her eye, Lisa had bedazzled lips along with a signature scarlet lipstick, and perhaps the most iconic was Rose's silver falsies glued to her lower lashes.
6. EXO - OBSESSION
EXO's legendary music video for Obsession gave us some of the most iconic and dramatic makeup looks that have ever been seen in K-Pop. Makeup was taken to a whole different dimension, giving a distinct edge to the members. Sehun had red glitter vertically across his right eye, Suho had dark reddish-brown eyeshadow, Chen had a red waterline and sharp winged liner along with smeared out red lipstick, Chanyeol had colored contact lenses, Kai went full dark makeup with his smoked-out eyes, and Baekhyun sported a lighter brown look on the eyes with his face adorned by a face chain. The makeup served its purpose and enhanced the immersion of the music video.
