In a handwritten letter shared with fans, EXO's Chen announced that he will be enlisting in the military on October 26.

His letter reads:

"Hello. This is Chen.

Are you guys doing well now that the weather is cooler? The hot weather has passed and it is already autumn.

The reason I am writing to you today is because I wanted to tell you about my enlistment on October 26th.

I will do my best to show everyone a better side to myself during my service, so I hope you will all stay as beautiful and as healthy as you are now.

I am forever thankful, I love you guys."

On October 15, Thursday, Chen released his new digital song "Hello" at 6 PM KST and is available for streaming on various music streaming platforms. A music video was also released on SM Entertainment's official YouTube channel and Naver channels. The song is Chen's first release since the news of his marriage and daughter's birth earlier this year.

The song is a letter to the fans he has not spoken to or met in a long time, in which he asks people how they are doing and if they are taking care of themselves. The music video shows Chen in an emotional atmosphere as he transitions to various locations with a melancholic vibe.

Prior to the release of "Hello", Chen release his first mini-album "Beautiful Goodbye" and his second mini-album "Shall We?: in 2019. His latest release is drawing much interest, as it is his first promotional activity following the news of his marriage. Fans and netizens alike have praised the song and had hoped that he would promote as a soloist and as a member of EXO soon.

Now that the news of his enlistment has been released, it appears this will be Chen's last musical release for a year and a half. Chen, we will miss you!
